Boxycharm July 2021 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $25

Cycle: Every Month

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

If you would like to subscribe you can use my referral link HERE. I don’t get anything other then points but would really appreciate it but do as you feel comfortable you are also welcome to use the link in the header that leads to the regular homepage.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

I feel like all the reviews/quizzes I have done with Boxycharm are paying off a little because this box feels like some of that has been taken into account or maybe I just got lucky this month.

Illamasqua Unveiled Artistry Palette

Full Size: 1 g x 12 Shades

Full Size Cost: $40

This feels like really nice quality and I am always curious about this brand but these are not colors I would ever use so I won’t swatch this I rather pass it along all nice and new to some one who can appreciate it.

Basic Beauty Lip Oil in Summer

Full Size: 3. g

Full Size Cost: $18

So I have learned that I do love a lip oil this is pretty boring and not worth $18. It has no flavor which is not a positive to me. It is moisturizing but not life changing at the moment I will definitely use it up though so maybe my feelings will change.

Generation Skin Hydrating Marine Algae Patches

Full Size: 30 pairs

Full Size Cost: $49

These were really nice. I will say they don’t last as long as other eye patches I feel like all the moisture benefits were absorbed really quickly. Which is both good and bad good if you need fast hydrating before doing something which is a common way I use patches. But I want more of that indulgent self care moment from something so expensive.

Dermelect Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum

Full Size: 30 ml

Full Size Cost: $39

I will never turn down a retinol serum and this apparently has 3 types of retinols in it. And it is sold on QVC which is funny to me for some reason. I actually like Qvc no shade I find it relaxing to watch sometimes.

Outre 8 in 1 CBD Multipurpose Nutrient Mist

Full Size: 4 ml

Full Size Cost: $30

This is much more expensive then the nutrient sprays I am currently using on my hair and this is supposed to be used on wet hair which isn’t my favorite. I don’t know how I feel about this now that I have it. I picked this for the month because I was curious and I still stand by that it is very different then anything we usually get in Boxycharm Just a but weird. I also don’t get what CBD is supped to do for my hair, hair is dead I don’t know how CBD could benefit it.

Well I am much less angry then I was last month. Still not like the most exciting box of all time but much less angry then I was last month.

Total: $176

Total Value to Me: $136

Macy’s Beauty Box November 2020 Subscription Box Review

Macy’s Beauty Box

Cost: $15

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (sometimes $10), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it. Lately we have been getting between 6 and 8 items per month you never really know how many things you are going to get.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely seen in subscription boxes.

The cool thing about the coupon is that it is good in stores and online also Macy’s does have sales and $5 products so if you are strategic you can score a free product every month. Depending on your state you may still have to pay tax but it is still basically free.

This month’s bag was so bad that i have been dreading putting in the work to review it. Like i have a replacement item that sucks in comparison to what I should have gotten, probable missing items with no way to contact Macy’s about it. Repeat items and a just plain awful item that should not be in a box that people pay money for like I pretty much am not happy with anything from this box. This is a mess of a box.

Jockey True Fit Promise One Size Hipster Underwear

Full Size: 1 pair

Full Size Cost: $11.50

Sample Size: 1 pair

Value: $5.99

I really wish Macy’s wouldn’t send underwear this is not one size fits all how would that even bee possible with underwear and it really is kinda awkward and weird. I don’t like these.

Tan Towel Half-Body Tan in Fair to Medium Skin Tones

Full Size: 10 Towels

Full Size Cost: $29.99

Sample Size: 1 Towel

Value: $2.99

Well they sent us half a tan. Like wtf at least send two so people have the full body option if they want it. Also this is wildly inappropriate for November. I just am really let down by Macy’s this month.

Dermablend Loose Setting Powder

Full Size: 28 g

Full Size Cost: $29

Sample Size: 3 g

Value: $3.11

It is a fine translucent powder but they have definitely sent this before. Big Sigh. Its the laziness for me.

SK-II Pitera Facial Treatment Essence

Full Size: 160 ml

Full Size Cost: $185

Sample Size:30 ml

Value: $34.69

So I have had this before can’t remember if it was from Sephora Play! or from Macy’s but it is really expensive for something that I felt did absolutely nothing. But I guess I’ll give it another go. I know this has a cult following so some people are probably thrilled to have this because of the price but I don’t care for it.

PYT Plumping Gloss

Full Size: 0.2 oz

Full Size Cost: $13.94

Sample Size: 0.08 oz

Value: $5.58

A boring clear gloss. Its plumping i don’t know what else to expound on with this.

Skin Reset 4-Week Intensive Rejuvenation System Set

Full Size: 36 ml

Full Size Cost: $139

Sample Size: 4 ml

Value: $15.44

This is kinda ridiculous to include as an item. I don’t care that it is technically worth $15 like it is a a one time use foil packet for a system that will only work if you use it the way it is intended. So weird. this is like a free sample.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Cologne

Full Size: 74 ml

Full Size Cost: $73

Sample Size: 1.5 ml

Value: $1.48

This smells nice I am excited for my girlfriend to wear it. It is a summer scent though this is not appropriate for a November box.

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Croisiere

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $84

Sample Size:1.2 ml

Value: $2.02

I don’t like any Mugler perfumes they all smell like a headache to me. The bottle on this is kinda pretty being a rainbow star but that also feels like summer vibes to me.

This box really was not up to par this month I am completely dissatisfied it feels like all random leftovers from the summer months when they put the box on pause.

Boxycharm October 2020 Subscription Box Review

This was a a pretty heavy hitting box this month but it was sorta just every product was a small fail for me personally. So be it.

Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer Cherry Tonka Musk

Full Size: 85 g

Full Size Cost: $20

I love Spongelles so much they are so easy for travel and such great quality. They are lightly exfoliating sponges with the body wash in and depending on the size last 4 days to like 16 days. I love cherries I like tonka but I hate musk so this scent is just a bit off for me the musk is really strong but I will use it any way. Happy even if I would have preferred the scent to be different.

Symniosis London Tightening & Resplendent Eye Mask

Full Size: 15 ml

Full Size Cost: $93

I don’t know what resplendent eye mask is supposed to do but it is a bit tightening but nothing dramatic. It isn’t hydrating at all despite having Hyaluronic acid in it.

Tarte Maracuja Miracle Mist

Full Size: 85 ml

Full Size Cost: $23

I have heard good things about this setting spray and I am really excited to try it. This is probably my favorite thing in the whole box.

Real Her Ultimate Glow Getter Cheek Trio Palette

Full Size: 7.5 g, 2.5 g x 3 shades

Full Size Cost: $28

This is so meh for me I think I am going to pass it on the bronzer and blush are so light the highlighter is pretty intense but this is so what ever to me. Not impressed.

Ciate London The Editor Palette New England

Full Size: 21.6 g, 18 shades

Full Size Cost: $32

This palette just confuses me. You have all these dark jewel toned shimmers that are gorgeous but then only 3 mattes that are not dark enough to be used with any of these darker shimmers so they serve no point really in the palette and some of the shimmers are just lighter versions of themselves so this could have been condensed and it would have bee a lovely foil palette to use in conjunction with out her palettes that people have. I am gona play around with this but I can see myself decluttering this.

This did not live up to last months box at all. I really loved most of what I got last month and this month was a bit more okay cool it is fine.
