So mu 2019 goal was to use up 600 products for the whole year just over 1.5 products a day. I did not succeed on that goal I missed it by 32 items so disappointing. I had thought I was doing so well but I guess not.
Final Totals for 2019:
I learned this year that I actually spend less then I thought I did on my beauty products which is good. Just about 29% of the cost of a product is what I spend on average between sales/coupons/gifts/boxes. Which makes me feel pretty damn proud of my deal skills lol.
For the rest of the data I have I broke it down in to categories of products per month, but unfortunately the category data for April got corrupted and lost so all the data that is broken down by category is done out of 11 months excluding the April data I lost. But the Total Data above does include the totals from April that data I did not lose.
Final Totals By Category:
For the purpose of identinfying where I use the most and spend the most I excluded Decluttered items.
I know I use the most skincare up a full third of what I use during the year which I am not shocked by at all.
But I fully did not expect for all the random thing I use to my next biggest category at 12%. I was expecting it to be Home Scents or Perfume to be honest.
I also expected Makeup to be my least used up category certainly not Lip, I feel like I get through at least 12 or more lip products a year but I didn’t think I was using up that much make up I am pretty happy with myself that Makeup isn’t dead last. I also used up so much perfume this year I was surprised it was so low.
I spend the most on Skincare but skincare is expensive and it is worth the investment with how much I get through that seems appropriate just over $200 in a year is hardly excessive.
Uh I spend way to much on candles clearly I need to cool that down it. takes me a long time to get through a candle or a wax melt and I do not need the huge collection I have of them.
I knew I spent the least on Perfumes since I almost never buy perfume for myself they mostly come to me as presents or in boxes so I knew that it would be the thing I spend the least on and will probably always stay that way.
I don’t do that much with my hair so I am surprised I spent that much on hair stuff over the course of the year in products I used. I have been making sure to use treatments and masks more so maybe that made the difference but I don’t know.
This charts just for the funsies of seeing the retail value of what I use some things are so ridiculously over priced at full price its comical and it shows since i rarely spend full price on anything.
This is to help me be better about how much I should be allowing myself to spend each month in each category since that is all I can realistically use up. To be fair I know it won’t change my actual makeup budget but I am going to be better about sticking closer to these numbers for things like candles and lip balms that I don’t use up very fast.
I am not the most proud of how I did this year like i have been in years past. This coming year I want to focus on using alot of my more expensive products rather then saving them for some better rainy day in the future.
So I am making my 2020 goal to use up $3,500 in retail value (not what I spent dear god no) of products. I am not giving myself a month or yearly product totally goal so that maybe I use up some more full size items that will also help add to that value. I already used up an almost $100 eye cream so hey that is a great start to this goal this year. I also really want to pare down my older perfumes a bit so I will be working on some expensive perfumes as well that should help me on my way to $3,500.

Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Eye Cream this was ok but I
used it for nearly a month and didn’t see any “youth activating” so I think
there are better eye creams for less.

Up & Up Refreshing Wet Cleansing Towelettes these were
terrible I kept these as car wipes but they don’t take any makeup up off and
they dry out quick. They are soft though.

Soo Ae Donkey Milk Skin Gel Mask this is a very wet mask. Like
dripping in my eyes wet. Also very thin so while it fits my face well it is not
the most comfortable because of how wet and kinda slimy it feels. It is also
pretty tacky so it did stay on my face well but I am not the biggest fan. It is
moisturizing though did leave my skin tacky. I don’t hate this so much that I
won’t use the other 4 I have (where did they all come from I don’t know because
I didn’t buy them) but I don’t recommend them.

The Body Shop Pomegranate
Invigorating Toner I wanted to have a non drying toner but this just left me
feeling sticky. It wasn’t drying so I guess it did its job but this is a step I
don’t need or want and this was not the product for me.

Private Doctor Define Minus Serum this did nothing and a it needed
a lot to spread it around.
Repurchase: No
Earth Therapeutics Collagen Cleansing Facial Towelettes I really
like these they were gentle and felt nice I think I might like these more then
my green Garnier ones but I just opened a new pack of those so we shall see.
But these were good. And I loved the packaging because since it had a an actual
lid to seal.

My Clarins Re-Charge Relaxing Sleeping Mask I didn’t like this at
all for starters the tube only had two uses and I expect more from Macy’s
second this was sticky and did not feel hydrating at all.

Double Dare OMG! 2 in 1 Detox Bubbling Microfiber Mask this is a
fun mask but it isn’t something I am running to purchase. The bubbling mask
leaves my skin feeling like squeaky clean and tight so the second hydrating
mask is essential to adding moisture back into the skin.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask this will never be my favorite I don’t
like the scent and I don’t feel like it does much I used it up as a neck/chest
moisturizer.

Dermadoctor Kakadu C Amethyst Clay Detox Mask I love the purple color of this. It is heavily fragranced though it legit smells like purple. It isn’t a bad scent just strong. This is a very drying tightening mask but my skin does look and feel softer and cleaner after I use it. It is expensive so I don’t know that I would invest in it when other cheaper masks also work for detoxing my skin. I had some congestion going on i think from trying the First Aid Beauty face oil I got in Ipsy this month so I used this to try and help get rid of that.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company OCD Hand Sanitizer in Weapon of Choice
these are my favorite hand sanitizers I use them pretty much exclusively this
one had a bit of a rum scent I loved it it was from a zombie themed collection
awhile back.

Sweet & Shimmer Face
and Body Mini Wipes in Frosted Berry these are my favorite for swatches they
are cheap smell good and are decently soft for cheap wipes. I pick these up at
Ulta every Christmas and use them all year. They have different scents each
year but they all smell pretty similar especially the non berry ones.
Repurchase: Yes, It is that
time to stock up again.
Degree Motion Sense in Stay Fresh I saw this new citrus Bergamont
scent and thought oh I’ll live that I love citrus and bergamont scent but this
smelt kinda weird on me and I have another one to get through.

Earth Therapeutics Foot Peel not the greatest foot peel. The peeling started like the next day just about but it was a very slow tiny little pieces at a time and not like a deeply penetrating peel only the very surface layer. Not a greatest one but much cheaper than a lot of other ones I have tried.

Columbia Candle Supply Brow Sugar & Fig Wax Melt I love the
wax melts from this company they are really great and I love that they do
mystery packs because it is more fun that way. They are cheap and you can get
at least 2 or 3 melts out of one ounce so I like them. This was a just
generally warm sweet scent.
Repurchase: Maybe
Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Peanut Brittle Candle this was very
peanut and a bit caramel I really enjoyed this candle. It had a really good
scent throw as well.

Bath and Body Works Orange Truffle Candle this smelled reasonably
good but had a very average scent throw I prefer a stronger scent throw. The
orange and the chocolate mixed nicely (shocking really lol) and didn’t smell
fake at all but it was just not strong enough for me.

Bath and Body Works Lemon Mint Leaf Candle this had a good scent
throw and was nice and bright and clean and fresh smelling I liked this a lot.

Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner in Black this
wasn’t that great I found it hard to line my eyes with and get a good flick and
I didn’t find it black enough or opaque enough without multiple coats.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer I really like this it has more color to it than the Urban Decay one and it really holds on to shadow really well. This will probably be the primer I purchase when I next need one.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm this is unfortunately
discontinued which is so fucking sad since this is my favorite foundation every
I bought a few of these when they were being discontinued for dirt cheap so I
have a stock but I love this it’s the right tone the right color it so light
and comfortable on my skin no matter what the weather it and it has the light
but blurring type of coverage I look for.

Hempz Toffee Butter Crème Triple Moisture Herbal Whipped Body
Crème I like Hempz lotions quite a lot but this one was a miss for me the scent
was way to buttery and I don’t go for that type of scent. The lotion quality
was good but I would go for a different scent.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Party Bath Salts in Sprinkles this
didn’t have enough scent to it and it kinda dried my skin out a bit. Not a fan.

Lush Butterball Bath Bomb this left my skin super soft but it
didn’t turn the water colors or smell strongly it was pretty meh.

Target Beauty Bergamot & Blood Orange Bath Salts these were
unimpressive they didn’t have a lot of scent and they only preformed marginally
well at Epsom Salts so I wouldn’t recommend. I grabbed these because they were
on sale for 90 cents but they weren’t really worth it.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Aloe-lujah Skin Gel in Free Spirit this
had such a nice bright fruity scent that I loved. I don’t love Aloe though I
find it a bit drying on my skin. But this is nice for burns and scraps and
anything like that. And it does absorb into my skin quickly.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Solid Sugar Scrub in Sugar Rush this
is one of those products that I savored every use and tried to make last it was
a great body scrub but the scent is want made this so special. It smelled like
sweet tarts and was so yummy and strong I loved it and you love to have more in
this scent.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Body Wash in Regenerate this didn’t
have much of a scent and there is some stuck in the bottom I can’t get out but
it was fine for a travel body wash wouldn’t recommend it though they have much
better body washes.

Zoella Snow’ella Perfume I am so glad to be done with this. I never liked any of the perfumes in this set they all smelled like Claire’s like little girl perfume. I used this up by every time I used it on myself I also sprayed my sheets with it.

Shea Moisture Jamacian Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Grow
Treatment Masque this is a really nice hair mask it makes my hair feel smooth
and strong but it takes a lot of product to coat my hair so I don’t know that I

Keranique Micro-Exfoliating Follicle Revitalizing Hair Mask this
was kinda like a scalp scrub and I really really liked it. It was easy to get
through my roots and on my scalp unlike other scalp scrubs I have tried and it
felt really nice and invigorating. My scalp felt cleaner and lighter after I
really liked this.

Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat Avocado 1 Min Hair Mask I have
liked the other hair masks I have tried in this like but the Avocado one left
my hair feeling a bit dry. I like how easy and quick these masks are and they
smell nice. This one was just not for me I prefer the other ones.

Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black List ugh this liner
I tried so hard to love this because the bottle is so cute looking like a
little ink well but liner sucks. It is so smudgey it never sets down and the
staying power is terrible. If I am going to go through the trouble of a potted
gel liner I want it to be bullet proof. This is also really hard to get out of
the bottle since you have to go through a longer thinner neck to the bottle and
you can’t see what you are picking up.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Crush this was just too
ballerina pink and I couldn’t darken this to a place where I would be willing
to wear it. Unfortunate because I love this formula.
Billion Dollar Brows The Microblade Effect Brow Pen in Dark this
is supposed to give you hair like strokes in your brows and it does. It takes
practice though. This ended up making my brows look much fuller then I like so
I am passing it on to a friend it just isnn’t my personal preference for my
brows.
La Ritzy Cosmetics Lip Stix in Plum this is one of those things in
theory I should have loved this it was easy to apply I loved the color even
though it got all over my coffee cup it didn’t slide all over my face and it
was comfortable but I was super aware that it was on my mouth like it felt
heavy and every time I looked in a mirror I just wanted to wipe it off so this
should just go to a better home. With someone who can love it properly.
Luscious Angel Eyes Eyeshadow Primer this is just an average eye
primer and I have plenty that I love so I see no need to try and use up one I
don’t love since eye primers take years to use up. This is really thick so a
little goes a long way and it’s like halfway between translucent or being a
color and blanking your lid out and I need it to do one or the other.
Colourpop Crystal Liquid Highlighter in Amber this liquid highlighter would separate and come put chunky as well as look chunky on the skin and slide around this just didn’t really work out for me. Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in 60 Silver Strike this is super pretty and metallic but I never use it so it can go.
I really wanted to get through more products this month and Dec is starting off slow which isn’t the greatest.
Well this month has been better but I am so sad summers at an end. 🙁 I thought I was using up a ton this month but it turns out I really didn’t which is kinda unfortunate. I did use up alot of lip balms and hair products for me so that feel slike a big accomplishment so maybe that is why it felt like so much.

these I love them and I save them for a special treat because they are pricey.

Blaq Mask I liked this my
skin felt really soft after I got two uses out of this little tube. I don’t
feel like the ingredients in this are the greatest for skin so I would not
repurchase.

Garnier Skinactive Refreshing Remover Face Wipes I like these face
wipes a lot I will probably repurchase they are soft enough I would like softer
ones but I don’t know it that is realistic. I don’t find these are harsh or
drying or irritating as a lot of wipes are.

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask I thought these would be totally gimmicky but they actually really worked. My under eyes were looking wrecked from stress and not sleeping and I was dehydrated and so everything was all lined and dark and I looked like I had recently died and I needed to go out. So I whipped these on while I was applying my makeup just for any kinda moisture I could get and they were great. They stuck on my face really well while I did my makeup I even cheated and used them to get a really pretty wing without struggling because the seal on my face was that good. When I took them off my under eyes were so much more hydrated and less lined and felt softer and better. The dark circles were lessened but not totally taken away which makes sense that’s internal and external treatments can only have so much effect.

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Eye Treatment I hated this I felt
like it did nothing it wasn’t moisturizing enough it did nothing positive for
my under eyes.

Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover this was totally great too my
eye makeup off easily didn’t sting it was great and identical to the Sephora
Bi-phase eye makeup remove that I have used for years. The Sephora one is half
the price and is identical and I love it. So while this was great did
everything it claimed save your money and get the Sephora one.

Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion uh this might be the best
sunscreen I have ever used. It is matte and nice feeling on it doesn’t feel
sticky or weird it doesn’t make my skin look a weird color. I wish it wasn’t so
expensive.

Urban Decay Quick Hydra-Charged Fix Complexion Prep Priming Spray I got this with Sephora Points and I loved it so so much it made my skin feel so hydrated and soothed and I loved every minute of using it but it is so expensive for a facial mist. Swan Creek Candle Company Break Apart Drizzle Melt in Cherry Almond Buttercream these are my favorite brand of wax melts they have such a good throw and some really amazingly yummy and unique scents. This smells like a warm cherry icing but not sweet the almond really cuts the sweetness and the fruitiness so it is a very warm yum scent. I found and won all mine at an arcade and they are a whole selling website so a bit of a pain to buy from but I recently found a store that sells then so I can buy more in the future.

Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask in Grapefruit this was nice like really
nice but not nearly as life changing as every youtuber says it is. Like it
don’t think it is worth the money there are much cheaper balms that feel just
as nice. The nicest part about it was that it was quite thick (because it is a
mask) that it would really cling and stay on my lips for a while and sink in. I
got a gift set of this so I have a good supply of this in a few flavors to last
me.

Softlips Tropical Lip Balm in Peach. These tropical ones were
ultra soft so it felt like they melted on to my lips which I like but it means
you go through these so fast. I used the Coconut one from last month in like 2
weeks or a little less. This I had in my car and maybe got 6 weeks of off and
on use. So these are not a good value I feel. This also smelled really
artificial compared to the scent of the Coconut one that I really enjoyed.

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment I have a weird relationship
which these I don’t like them but they feel nice but I don’t think they do much
for my lips. I find the tinted ones to be really patchy and gross looking on my
lips and to wear off weird. But they keep turning up in packs and in my
subscription boxes so I just try to get through them. They are also so freaking
soft that they melt and break and get messy as you are using them.

Sol de Janiero Brazilian Kiss Cupuacu Lip Butter this kills me
beacause this is a fucking $18 lip balm and no lip balm has the right to be $18
dollars. This smells like delicious heaven though it is so coconutty and a
amazing and is so thick and soft and nice feeling on my lips. I wish the lotion
smelled like the lip balm.

Carmex Medicated Lip Balm pretty much my favorite drugstore lip balm I love the menthol tingle and the really thick feeling on my lips when they are chapped. I only like it in this chapstick form though not the pot or squeezy tube.

Bath and Body Works Body Butter in Vanilla Bean Noel I do like the Bath and Body Works Body Butters they are thick and moisturizing (not as much as a fancy body butter though) they smell nice too. This was the typical vanilla scent from Christmas. I don’t think this is worth the full price at almost $20 just wait for the 75% off sale that is how I got my back up one.

Givenchy Dahlia Divin Perfume I love Dahlia Divin I have a full size version and these samples are good for keeping in the car or your purse since there is no chance they can leak. Even though perfume in a foil packet it pretty awkward to apply.

Dry Bar Triple Sec 3-In-1 Texture Spray I like pretty much
everything I have ever tried from the Dry Bar line. They all smell good and
leave my hair feeling soft and hair like rather than stiff and gross. I don’t
have a ton of use for texturizing spray in my routine like it legit took me 3
years to use this tiny can. SO for that reason only I wouldn’t buy it but it is
great.

Keracolor Color Care Conditioner in Hot Pink I used this to try to
keep up with the color in my hair it did work but it was hard to get an even
application since it was so thick and so the color was still kinda uneven. If
you are looking for like a glaze this might work out or if you have like only
one or two really chunky strips of hair to dye. The conditioning part of this
was great though it was a really nice hair conditioner.

dp Hue ACV Hair Rinse this smelled like apple cider vinegar which
I love but if you don’t, don’t get this. This was like a rinse to get product
build up off your scalp I guess. It was ok I think it worked it was kinda hard
to tell.

Madam CJ Walker Scent & Shine Coconut Oil they don’t sell this anymore and I am not surprised because it was not good it was really greasy looking in my hair and it smelled like fake coconut in a bad way.

Elf Flat Foundation Brush this served me well a brush to apply my
mask but it is not falling apart after like 2 or 3 years of use which is very
serviceable for the $1 this brush cost.

Pacifica Underarm Deodorant
Wipes these are sorta touch up deodorant wipes that smelled like coconut they
were super nice I kept them in my car and they held up well to all the temperature
changes in a car. These worked well to touch up when I felt gross from being
outside or what ever all day.

Degree Motion Sense Deodorant in Fresh Energy this is my preferred
deodorant even though it is expensive I like it and it works without having a
strong smell. I like my deodorants to smell pleasant for like the first few
minutes I have it on while I’m getting ready and then I don’t want it competing
with my perfume all day.

Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer (2) I tried a sample of this like 2 months ago I think and I didn’t like it I found it to sticky and heavy for me and I was trying to pull a few things out of my primer drawer that was so over crowded and these had to go.
AOA Studio E103 Brush this was non stop shedding the whole time I
was using it and it just won’t stop. Absolutely terrible.
Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in
Delish this is a pretty color but super uncomfortable to wear. It was peeling
off and I could feel it on my lips all day.
Coola Mineral Sun Silk Creme Sunscreen this broke me out which a
lot of sunscreeens do so it has to go it also left a heavy white cast on my
face that did not want to sink in and it was thick and uncomfortable as well.
Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream (2) I love the scent of this but the lotion leave my skin so sticky and uncomfortable. I am giving these to my gf who loves them and they don’t leave her skin sticky so I will enjoy the scent vicariously through her. Not picture because they are already in their new home.
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in 01 Curviest Caramel this is all
gunky and chunk and smells a pit weird so I think it went off and needs to go.
I don’t love these they are weirdly dry but still only a little more color then
a tinted balm they are just kinda weird.
Sephora Velvet Eyeshadow in Creamy Green 10 this was like a weird
cheap cream shadow I picked up once to get free shipping at Sephora and it was
always terrible. It is a shimmery green cream shadow but the cream and the
shimmer kinda separate on your eye and go in two differet directions not a good
look at all. It also doesn’t come off very green either. It is also far from
creamy it is very dry feeling and hard to work with.
Aurora Intensely Precise Eyeliner in Espresso this was a good
eyeliner pigmented and smooth but the color is too light for the types of look
I do and I don’t really like brown eyeliner.
Ciate London Eye Lustre Cream Shadow In Cupid this is nothing like
the Stila liquid shadows this is mostly glitter and pretty quickly it broke up
on my eyes and as highlighter leaving no color and a lot of glitter just kinda
sliding around.
Morphe Liquid Lipstick in Bloodshot gorgeous color but patchy and
smeary and wore of weirdly from just talking super unfortunate I loved the
color and packaging.
Apocalyptic Beauty Holographic Warpaint in Sleek White Gold this was just ok and then it dried out. It was pretty like a cool shimmery gold veil of highlight but wore off very quickly this was like cool photo highlighter and not like do your makeup and go out kinda highlighter. I did use about half before it dried out which I still think is a pretty good accomplishment.
Ulta Professional Flawless Prime I am pretty sure this isn’t sold anymore and I have no interest in trying it and it was one of the primers keeping my drawer from shutting so it got booted. It is also green and I don’t love green primers.
I am proud that I used a bunch of chapstick and full size products this month and got a bunch of things I don’t need or like out of my life.

So I’ve only spent about a quarter of the value of the stuff I used and that is a pretty consistent statistic over the whole value of my collection and I am pretty proud of that statistic because when I look at my collection it can be like woah overwhelming but knowing I didn’t spend the full amount on most of it makes me feel better.
