Ipsy October 2020 Subscription Box Review

What is it: Every month Ipsy sends out a cute makeup bag of samples and full size items. You can review your bag for points that you can trade in for reward items. The rewards change often and the range between 300 points and 1000 points. You can get around 95 points every month.

You can now customize your bag and pick out one sample per month that will get to be in your bag which is a pretty nice change even though it came with a price increase.

So Ipsy always does a cute Halloween themed bag this one isn’t super Halloweeny more just pretty simple mystical vibes.

Pistache Pistachio Body Butter

I don’t know if I really like this it is very heavily scent like pistachios and pretty thick and heavy on the skin. I just don’t know how I feel about this yet.

Tarte Maracuja Tinted Moisturizer in 34 N Medium Natural

Sample Size: 5 ml

Value: $4.83

I love tinted moisturizers and have been curious about this one but I have so much foundation that its a bit ridiculous. I hate that light coverage products are still as much as a full coverage foundation it feels like I am being cheated some how.

Laura Makeup Labs Queen Blending Brush

This is a brand from Etsy that is so interesting I have never received something from Ipsy that came from Etsy. This is soft and very cute very similar to some brushes I have had from amazon. I don’t know that it is worth the $15 but I will happily use it.

Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm

This was my pick for the month I love fancy lip balms but they are always so expensive this really does smell like a mojito I am pretty pleased.

It Cosmetics Lash Blowout Mascara

I wish this looked like the actual packaging. The full size of this looks like a hair brush and that realy is the whole appeal of this mascara so in just this regular boring tube I can’t get any excitement going for this mascara.

Not my most favorite bag ever but you know it is what it is.

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

Lavido Nurturing Hand Cream

I wanted to like this it is a really thick nice hand cream, but the patchouli scent is so strong I just can’t. I really dislike patchouli scents and this one lingers for a long time and it is strong. This is great for someone just not me.

Luna Magic Beauty Blend It Girl! Brush Set

These brushes are so much nicer than they look. They are really soft and the red brush in particular is such a unique shape and size that is perfect for highlighter or even powering under the eyes. Really nice these weird brush sets Boxy has been sending have really been working out for me.

Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream

This was my pick for the month and I could not pass up an eye cream with vitamin c and cherries those are some things I love. Excited to use this but eye creams take so long to use up and I have three open right now.

Hank and Henry Lip Love Luxe Lipstick in Te Amo

Full Size: 3.8 g

I am dead for this packaging it is so sparkly and amazing and the way it opens omg it gives me feelings. You press this button on the top and the lipstick bullet pops out the bottom. The whole lipstick is covered in glitter but only a little comes off in application. I don’t love glitter lipsticks but they are always so mesmerizing to look at.

Hipdot Zion Eyeshadow Palette

Full Size: 28 g, 15 Shades

Full Size Cost: $30

I love this palette it is so pretty and blends really well I did this really pretty soft purple eye look with it that I really liked. I will say it doesn’t wear as long as some eyeshadows but I would probably get it too with a different primer and packing it on a bit more.

I am so pleased everything except for the hand cream was on point for me and the hand cream could have been too it was just the scent for me. Well Done Boxycharm!

So I haven’t posted in a month my bad. September was so busy it felt like it was 5 years long. But Happy first day of Halloween everyone! 🎃

I love this mascara I have used a whole full size tube before so when this was one of the choices I jumped on it. This gives me my perfect long fluttery lashes but with a nice amount of volume. Love.

Benefit POREfessional Hydrate Primer

I love this primer too. It smooths and fills like the regular POREfessional but it doesn’t get all pilly and dry like that one does. I am really lucking out with this box today.

Purlisse Youth Glow Vitamin C CC Cream in Medium

I don’t have a ton of luck with Purlisse products but I also love Vitamin C so much. Can we talk for a second about how there is only 4 shades and medium is the deepest shade like. Its the non inclusivity for me next.

This was a great Ipsy bag. Best in a really long while. The one brush from Suva like made the whole bag for me.
