Boxycharm December 2021 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $25

Cycle: Every Month

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

If you would like to subscribe you can use my referral link HERE. I don’t get anything other then points but would really appreciate it but do as you feel comfortable you are also welcome to use the link in the header that leads to the regular homepage.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

So Boxycharm has raised the prices again and I have made the decision to cancel. I don’t feel like I am getting enough value or joy out of it anymore. I have yet to decide what or if I will replace it.

Mudmasky Mineral-Infused Bubble Cleansing Mask

Full Size: 75 ml

Full Size Cost: $59

This was a whole roller coaster first I was not interested in it when I saw it because I am so sick og mud masks. But then I was reading the instructions and it actually more like a cleansing mud that you only leave on for a few mins and it acts as your faces wash and a mask and that is so much more intriguing but then I saw that it is $59 and that is straight ridiculous for this amount of a cleanser.

Algenist Triple Eye Renewal Balm

Full Size: 15 ml

Full Size Cost: $68

This was my choice for the month it seems really silky and moist and I think I am going to like it.

Blinc Ultra Volume Tubing Mascara

Full Size: 9 ml

Full Size Cost: $26

I have always wanted to try a tubing mascara so I am really happy that I am going to get the chance to now since I can’t and wont buy mascara I have at least a 4 years supply worth of mascara. These come of with just warm water and are supposed to just slide of and after I finish up another tube of my hourglass that I love but is an actual nightmare to take off this feels like it might be a nice break for my lashes.

Sophia + Mabelle Satin Powder Highlighter in Peach Sangria

Full Size: 3.2 g

Full Size Cost: $22

This is too dark for me but my main problem with it is this doesn’t read as a highlight it has no transcluceny to it it is a pretty opaque base which is a weird choice for a highlighter this almost feels like a shimmer eyeshadow.

Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner

Full Size: 2 g

Full Size Cost: $18

I just don’t need another black liquid eyeliner. I just don’t.

I don’t know if February or March is going to be my last box but we are at the final countdown now.

Well a much more interesting Boxycharm this month which is good. So lets crack into it.

Glow Oasis Milkdew pH Balancing Moisture Milk Toner

Full Size: 120 ml

Full Size Cost: $34

I am not really a toner person but this one seems really intriguing I don’t know it if it is just because the bottle is so nice and heavy and that frosted glass it just feels super fancy and looks super nice. This has vegan probiotics which is also really cool I have liked probiotics for my skin so this may turn out being great for me.

Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleanser

Full Size: 118 ml

Full Size Cost: $10

I don’t really spot clean my brushes I rather just switch brushes but I will pass this on and some one will be thrilled to have it and make use of it. I just don’t like using that much alcohol on my brushes when I don’t have to and dry them out.

Luxie Por La Noche Brush Set

Full Size: 3 brushes

Full Size Cost: $40

This was my choice for the month, I love Luxie brushes alot they are some of my favorites I love the quality and the feel they wash well they apply makeup well this color scheme is really interesting really gives me Art Deco / Cuban vibes very cool This set includes:
LUXIE 514 Blush Face Brush

LUXIE 211 Concealer Brush

LUXIE 207 Medium Angled Brush

I have the 514 and the 211 and use them all the time so it is nice to have more in other colors.

Violet Voss Violet Sunset Pro Series Eye Shadow and Pigment Palette

Full Size: 10 shades, 13 g

Full Size Cost: $36

So many thoughts, first of all this is not the color scheme my mind goes to for violet sunsets this is more like soft spring sunsets rather then like violet bright sunset colors. Also I would not ever recommend spending full price on Violet Voss palettes ever they are not worth the price they charge they are nice but not that much better or smoother then a Colourpop for half the price. That said they are smooth and pretty and a little more vibrant on then they are in the pan.

I don’t know how much use I will get out of this but it is a pretty palette to have around.

Rockins Cosmetics Hot Mess Threesome Glitter Gel Pens

Full Size: 3 crayons, 4 g each

Full Size Cost: ~$33.49, $25 GBP

Ok well this seems like a super cool company really into that old grungey rock style of the 70s and 80s which I can totally vibe with. But also not totally my prefered makeup style most of the time even though I am here for that music and style all the time. This is that really greasy smudgey thick eye pencils that sorta migrate all over and really give that lived in careless grungey look. I will say the black and the green seem to preform pretty well but the blue is seriously inconsistent and not as opaque and doesn’t smudge as nicely it looks more messy then intentionally messy. These will be interesting to play around with.

I at least like how unique and varied these products are. I like getting weird and interesting makeup.

Macy’s Beauty Box November 2021 Subscription Box Review

Cost: $15

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (that used to it) with a purchase amount which I hate (SUCH A DOWNGRADE), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it. Lately we have been getting between 6 and 8 items per month you never really know how many things you are going to get.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely seen in subscription boxes.

This month was a YSL takeover so everything was YSL in the box. We were supposed to get two little mini bottles of perfume but I had that little card again saying they had to replace something so I ended up with a second lipstick instead.

YSL Y EDP Cologne

Full Size: 100 ml

Full Size Cost: $125

Sample Size: 1.2 ml

Value: $1.50

Broken record here but I love that they include a men’s cologne and not just women’s fragrance. This smells pretty nice.

YSL Libre EDT Perfume

Full Size: 90 ml

Full Size Cost: $112

Sample Size: 1.2 ml

Value: $1.49

I usually don’t like the perfume samples that are scent but this has notes or orange blossom which I really like so I am game to give this one a go.

YSL Mon Paris EDP Perfume

Full Size: 90 ml

Full Size Cost: $128

Sample Size: 7.5 ml

Value: $10.67

This is such a classic staple scent and I have never tried it before so I am really excited to have this adorable little bottle to try out.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick Hydrating Lipstick Balm

Full Size: 3.2 g

Full Size Cost: $38

Sample Size: 1 g?

Value: $11.88

Ii have definitely received this this product in this shade from Macy’s before. I hate that it doesn’t have the size or shade on this. I think it Rouge Tuxedo but I don’t really know. This is very slippy and very shiny not my preferred format of a lipstick but I have 2 now. Swatched Below.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Satin Lipstick

Full Size: 3.8 g

Full Size Cost: $38

Sample Size: 1 g?

Value: $10

Another shiny lipstick this is more a traditional satin rather then glossy but still not my thing. This shows up alot pinker then I expected from the the tube.

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Radical

Full Size: 7.5 ml

Full Size Cost: $29

Sample Size: 2 ml

Value: $7.73

Cool a mascara so exciting. it has a very standard straight brush with natural bristles. It doesn’t seem like it will be worth $29 dollars.

YSL Pure Shots Night Reboot Serum

Full Size: 30 ml

Full Size Cost: $88

Sample Size: 7 ml

Value: $20.53

Super expensive anti aging serum this is what I am here for. This is probably my favorite thing in the bag this month.

Well I am happy with some of the things in this bag. I think I would have prefered just all little mini bottles of all their fragrances and got like a little scent library to try out Kinda like they did with the Jo Malone box but that is just my two scents.
