What’s In My Trash? March 2021

At the end of the first quarter of 2021 and I am still behind in total value but ahead in total items. I feel like I didn’t use that much this month. This month was a whole blur.

Skincare (14)

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask I loved this so much. So much so that even though I have so many eye creams I bought another one already. I actually saw results and quickly with out irritations this was a really good eye cream. The only sorta down side is that it isn’t really hydrating so I would either layer another eye cream over it or skip this one or two nights a week in favor a hydrating eye cream but I don’t even care because personally I don’t need a very hydrating eye cream every night. I am so in love with this. It is a really thick balmy texture two so it doesn’t migrate into your eyes or all over your face and it really made all the fine lines disappears so much love for this.

Repurchase: Literally did the night I used it up

BioRepublic Aloe Rescue Mask this was fine a moisturizing sheet mask.

Repurchase: No

Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid Boost 360 Eye Cream this was thick but blended in pretty well and was very soothing. I liked this a lot a little went a long way.

Repurchase: Maybe

Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb I just used this for some hydrating in conjunction with the Glow Recipe eye cream. I don’t care for this I feel like it is really expensive for a do-nothing hydrating eye gel it is just light and lightly hydrating.

Repurchase: No

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream this was nicer then I expected. I thought this would be really heavy and thick kinda like the First  Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream but this is really light and fast absorbing. Pretty nice cream. I have plenty of moisturizers that I love so I wouldn’t repurchase this but I liked using it.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Peeling Mousse I hate these kinds of products. The ball up on your skin to make you think that it is dead skin cells, it isn’t that’s just a chemical reaction between your skin oils and the product, and the real exfoliation is usually chemical or should be on an expensive product like this. This did nothing. I just don’t get along with Philosophy skincare.

Repurchase: No

Naisture Tea Tree Mask Pack this is fine there isn’t much to say about most sheet masks. I feel like they are all just ok unless they are super amazing or super awful there isn’t much to say about them.

Repurchase: No

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel I think I liked this but only using it once and then I have one more I’m not going to see any results but it didn’t upset my skin and my skin felt nice in the morning.

Repurchase: No

Beekman 1802 Milk Foam Calming Bubble Mask this was whatever I don’t feel like it did anything and bubble masks are fun but a little bit of a pain because they are messy and you can’t really do anything else while you are wearing them.

Repurchase: No

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream this was unimpressive and a bit thick for my taste.

Repurchase: No

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant so I have tried this before and didn’t like it. I found out I had used it wrong I tried it again correctly where you dissolve this in water or a cleanser and then let it sit on your face and while better, I still don’t like it. It is messy and a pain for a pretty mediocre exfoliating experience.

Repurchase: No

Strivectin Anti-Wrinkle Wrinkle Recode Line Transforming Melting Serum can you marry a skincare product because I want to marry this. It actually works like it actually got rid of lines that were forming on my face and I love it so much and I am so sad that it is $89 because I think I am going to go into actual shock when I go re buy this in the future.

Repurchase: Yes

The Beauty Crop Avocado Hydrating Eye Mask I didn’t really these they didn’t stick well and didn’t have a ton of serum so it felt like they were doing nothing.

Repurchase: No

Lord Jones Acid Mantle Repair CBD Moisturizer this was very thick I actually got two nights out of this packet. I don’t know if it did anything after two used but it felt really nice on.

Repurchase: Not at this point

Random (2)

White Vintage Mickey Mouse Pouf (not pictured) last of my Mickey Mouse poufs I liked these and they lasted a super long time.

Repurchase: Yes

Lush Shower Bomb in Comfort Zone (not pictured) the quality of this did n ot meet my expectations it lasted two showers but it melted weird and was messy and didn’t really steam or add much scent to my shower and I love the comfort scent from Lush but this did not do it for me.

Repurchase: No

Home Scents (4)

Bath and Body Works Wallflower in Blueberry Maple Pancakes I love all the blueberry scents from bath and body works they always have such a good scent throw and I love sweet bakery scents.

Repurchase: Yes

Bath and Body Works Copper Coconut Candle this is one of my favorites it smells like girls scout cookies to me and I like it a lot. I don’t know if it is special enough to class as one of the candles I am still willing to buy from Bath and Body works we will see.

Repurchase: Maybe

Bath and Body Works Whipped Coffee Candle this burned through really really fast and it must have burned really hot because it melted the sticker on the outside. Not great.

Repurchase: No

Hand Soap in Vanilla Nutmeg this is a unbranded soap that I picked up at a Marshalls or TJ Maxx like years ago I forgot I even had it until I found it in the back of a cabinet So long that it had lost its scent. This was fine as a soap a soap it literally lasted forever there is more in there but I can’t pump it out and I don’t care enough to pour it out and use it up. It smelled nice when it had a scent.

Repurchase: No

Victoria Secret Goodnight Kiss Overnight Lip Mask this was fine it was more like a glossy balm then a lip mask but it tasted really good it was a really interesting vanilla and it was thick and fine.

Repurchase: No, too expensive

Medusa’s Makeup Lip Balm in Cha Cha Cha Cherry Bomb of the three lip balms I have tried this was my least favorite from them the flavor was very off and it was really melty and gross I didn’t love that this was tinted either. I also do not under stand how this is priced at $8.95 none of their other lip balms are even close to that in price it makes no sense.

Repurchase: No

Columbia Candle Supply Green Apple Lip Balm this came weirdly with a wax melt order I made a long time ago and it isn’t even a product they sell. I don’t know it was weird. This balm had no flavor even though it was supposed to be green apple but it was a super nice balm it had that thick slippy feel I like.

Repurchase: Can’t

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy  I really like the Fresh balms they are feel so nice on and they taste and smell really good but I hate how soft they are because they break and I go through them really really fast which is not great for the price.

Repurchase: Probably not

Elf Lip Exfoliator in Cherry Tart they have since renamed this flavor to sweet cherry. When I got this I thought it was the best lip exfoliator but I have grown past it. I don’t love how sticky it is mixed with the balm in it I find it surprisingly mess and hard to get off as well as it leaks every where into the packaging making it messy.

Repurchase: No

Lotion (1)

Burt’s Bees Body Lotion in Milk & Honey this was nice it smelled like honey it was really thick and moisturizing. I am really glad oi Cut this open because there was so much left in the tube like 2 weeks’ worth of lotion that was couldn’t be squeezed out.

Repurchase: Maybe, I have so much lotion

Bodycare (2)

Bath and Body Works Merry Cherry Cheer Shower Gel this was nice it was all the fruity scents I like with cherries and raspberries and such I liked it. The purple color was fun too.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Walnut Body Scrub in Sorcery & Seduction, so just to call myself out I used this on my face and body because their walnut “body” scrubs are the same formula as the walnut face scrubs they used to make that I loved. I know walnut scrubs can cause a lot of skin irritation and problems for a lot of people so don’t do what I do but for me my skin really responds well to walnut scrubs. That said the scent on this was so strong, it was meant to represent Jafar and it really did, that I used it more on my body then face because it was a lot of scent to have up that close to my nose. I loved it but the scent not so much.

Repurchase: Not in this scent

Perfume (2)

Juicy Couture Perfume Malibu I liked this a lot but I preferred the other two versions of malibu the surf and the la la. This has been discontinued so it really doesn’t matter either way.

Repurchase: No

Pinrose Secret Genius I liked this a lot it is the kind of sweet perfume I really like. I liked Gilded Fox a lot better so would purchase that over this.

Haircare (3)

Bumble and Bumble Bb. Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat /UV Primer I don’t really like heat protectants I find them always to be sticky and heavy in my hair. And I just struggle to force myself to use them.

Repurchase: No

Pravana Chromasilk Vivids in Magenta (not pictured) this was good it is a professional hair dye that I don’t know if a non-cosmetologist can buy so I wouldn’t be able to buy this. I did like this better than the dyes I can normally access it dyed faster and with less mess.

Repurchase: No

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Restorative Hair Mask in Not Now, Ma! I really like their restorative hair masks they have almost a balm texture so a little goes a long way and it ends up always coming down to the scent for me and this smelled very fruity and delicious.

Repurchase: Yes

Declutter (5)

Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser (x2) I hated this it didn’t feel like it was cleaning my face at all just like there was oil sliding around on my skin. And it just felt gross.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment I just hated this I couldn’t force my way through it. It was so sticky and thick that it was hard to blend in and it was really important to fully blend it is because it is green. I get that it is supposed to neutralize the red in your skin but it was so green it made my skin look grey and it was so thick and sticky.

Mac Lustre Lipstick in Hug Me I don’t loke this color it is a little too light on my and I don’t love the lustre finish.

Physicians Formula The Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Noir-ishing Plum this is fine but I have lipsticks in this same color that just perform better. So I need to make cuts because I just have too  many lipsticks.

I can’t believe we are 1 yr from when the world shut down it is just been such a wild 15 months I just can’t even.

I am really slowing down on empties and I don’t know if I am going to make my $3,500 value goal. I need like $900 in 3 months. With the rate I am going at right now I am going to fall short. I was trying to focus on more full size products and they just last a long time.

L’oreal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Cream Fragrance Free this is so thick and it actually left my skin pink I really didn’t like this at all. I don’t get why you would want your moisturizer to make you pink. So thick that I got three uses out of this tiny little sample

L’oreal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Eye Brightener not as bad as the moisturizer but still really thick and hard to blend in.

Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser this was fine as a cleanser nothing special nothing awful.

Repurchase: No

Medusa’s Makeup Black Hawaiian Sea Salt Facial Scrub this was way too harsh to be a facial scrub. I used it up as a body scrub and it was lovely that way really scrubby and the right amount of oils to leave my skin really soft. I hated it for my face though the one time I tried it. They don’t make this one any more it is a sea salt roses one. But as a body scrub I recommend.

Caolion Blackhead O2 Bubble Pore Pack so this mask was super fun it’s the kind that bubbles up and gets all foamy on your face. I really enjoyed it but I don’t think it really did anything for my skin but I want to try other foamy masks now.

Trader Joe’s Watermelon Facial Mist this was nice and it was cheap it smelled good I like face mists this was fun.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company We Were On A Break Teeth Whitener I didn’t like this at all this was not nearly as good as other charcoal toothpastes I have tried. It had no grit and I don’t feel like I got the same clean and whitening benefits as I did from other charcoal pastes. It also clumped up really weird in my mouth while I was brushing. TMI but true.

Repurchase: No

Tarte Maracuja Oil I used this for hair and my face and just as a multi use oil mostly when I travel or stay over somewhere where. It is nice because I can use it for lots of purposes and it works alright at all of them but not great at any of them. I would use it again but I won’t buy it.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company OCD Hand Sanitizer in Can’t Touch This welcome to 2020 we use hand sanitizer like it is going out of style now. I liked this one because it wasn’t really scented where you could smell it but it was scented just enough to cover the alcohol so it smelled like nothing which was a nice change from a lot of the other sanitizers I’ve been using a lot.

Pacifica Cherry Kiss Hydrating Lipstick Wipes I love these for taking off matte liquid lipsticks they make it easy and comfortable and they taste really good.

Yankee Candle Red Apple Wreath I swear this candle smelled different every time I burned it. I got this for free it was fine and it burned along time but I don’t really love yankee candle for whatever reason.

Repurchase: No

Yankee Candle Easy Meltcup in Roseberry Sorbet I clearly wasn’t paying enough attention when I bought this or I would not have bought it I didn’t realize it was a floral. I hated the scent but beside that I hated the quality of this wax it was so highly dye that the dye would like separate out of the wax as it was melting and it was really hard to clean out of my wax melter.

Repurchase: No

Lip (2)

Chapstick in Key Lime I really liked this it was a good chapstick I loved the lime. A+

Repurchase: Yes, except I have like 2 years worth of lip balm so not anytime soon

Alaffia Everyday Coconut Vegan Lip Balm this was more like a cookie then coconut. It was fine but nothing I would go out of my way to spend the money on.

Makeup (4)

Tarte Stay Spray Setting Spray I really really liked this it is almost as good as Urban Decay All Nighter and it is a little cheaper I think. So good great sprayer.

Hank & Henry Stick With it Long Wear Liquid Eyeliner in Blickity Black this has started to go on all patchy and like almost clear in spots so I think it has come to the end of its useful life. I didn’t like this at all it was difficult to work with not super black and not long wearing.

Repurchase: No

Colourpop Brow Boss in Brunette hated this so hard to work with really dry and scratchy on the skin.

Repurchase: No

Lancôme Hypnose Drama I don’t really like Lancôme mascaras they are so clumpy and gooey.

Avon Foot Works Deep Moisture Cream this was not good as the the other foot cream I used up from Avon this was really thick but didn’t feel like it was penetrating well. Either way I don’t like to support MLMs even though the products themselves are often good.

Da Bomb Fun Size Fizzers in Cozy Bomb this was more warm fall scent then pumpkin spice scented which I greatly preferred. It came with a super adorable red leaf charm inside that I loved. It was a really nice bath bomb a little small for a full bath tub though If I ever bought these again I would get the full size ones.

Haircare (5)

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Liquid Strength Treatment With Protein you put this in your wet hair and it is supposed to reduce breakage and I feel like it worked and it has that nice Garnier scent. You do need a fair amount though.

Earth’s Nectar Mint Leaves Scalp Oil I really liked this it made my scalp feel invigorated and it would help anytime my scalp was itchy. I wish it came in a spray rather than a pump though.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt this used to be like such a favorite for me but I think it is just to drying and hard to work in now. I need to find another scalp scrub that works for me.

Cake The Posh Wash Shampoo I hated this it made my hair feel like straw and instantly tangled it so much I immediately would have to conditioner and then a hair mask every time I washed my hair.

Repurchase: HELL NO

Cake The Soft Serve Cream Rinse Conditioner this was not very conditioning at all I would use it to reverse the straw feeling of the shampoo and then have to put on a hair mask everything about these products was awful.

Declutter (1)

Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Butter this went bad. It changed colors and had this weird plastic crayon like scent to it.

Very poor showing this month and I wasn’t really overly thrilled about most of the stuff I used up.

Well this is super late because I have been intensely busy I had about 4 days off in the past 6 weeks and that trend is about to continue for at least the next 6 week so so yea my life is like just a busy trainwreck right now. And these empties really show it I only used up 16 things that’s probably the lowest I have ever used up. I did use up alot of high value items though so I’m still ahead of the game for my goal but the amount of items coming in is way exceeding what is moving out right now. But that seems like a problem for some time in the future when things are less insane.

NuFace Prep-n-Glow Dual Sided Cloth I love these wipes they are so good and they don’t feel like they are wrecking my skin when I use them they feel like they are doing something good for my skin.

Repurchase: Yes

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Tumeric Face Oil very much loved this but I love vitamin c oils in general. I don’t know that I loved this more than cheaper vitamin c oils. It was brightening and just makes my skin glow but without being super oily and greasy.

Repurchase: Probably Not

Elemis Superfood Cica Calm Hydration Juice another thing I really loved but I don’t think is worth the steep price for how fast I went through it. It was a really hydrating gel I really liked it it was a bit cooling I liked it a lot but it only lasted like a month and it is expensive. It broke down in cost to like a little over a dollar a day.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Afterparty Walnut Body Scrub so I know this is technically a body scrub but this is really a rebrand of a face scrub they used to make years ago that I loved to death. I know you aren’t supposed to use walnut shells on your face because they can cause micro tears but my skin responds so well to them and is so soft and clearer after that I feel like as long as I’m gentle it is fine and it is my face my rules.

Repurchase: Yes

Dr. Brandt 24/7 Retinol Eye Cream this did nothing? Like I really expected to see a difference with this and I saw more of a difference with the ROC eye cream that is half the price of this. Also I cut this open because expensive thinking there would be like one or two more uses stuck in the tube and there was like 2 weeks of eye cream in there.

Repurchase: No

Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb this is ok it’s a fine moisturizer but it is nothing special equal to its price.

Forever 21 Cotton Rounds these are great cotton rounds, cheap and not linty or scratchy but they don’t make them any more.

Bath and Body Works Firecracker Candle this was pretty lackluster. It really didn’t smell much like a rocket pop like it was supposed to and it burned really fast.

Repurchase: No

Swan Creek Candle Co. Herbal Melts in Saturday Morning Cereal & Milk these are some of my favorite wax melts. This really did smell like cereal but it wasn’t as strong as a lot of their other wax melts.

Repurchase: I don’t know

Bath and Body Works Wallflower in Fresh Sea Walk I liked this it was strong and very beachy.

Repurchase: Yes

Bath and Body Works Fresh Orange Candle I liked this but it wasn’t strong enough.

Repurchase: No

Ulta Beauty Foaming Hand Soap in Citrus Fizz I like the Ulta soaps they last forever like they just last and last and last I also really appreciate the pumps on them you can actually get every last bit of soap out with out struggling. This citrus scent was fun I liked it, it was limited edition so I don’t think you can get it. But I will buy more soaps from Ulta.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Lip Scrub in What’s This? I wasn’t keen on this flavor. But I used it up it was a little dry for my liking.

Bath and Body Works Body Lotion in Clementine & Mint Leaves I am slowly getting through my BBW collection I do really want to limit what I buy from them to just really special things. They keep raising the prices and lessening the sales and coupons and I feel like the quality isn’t worth what they are now charging. Either way this was fine the scent was nice it was the main reason I bought it.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Whipped Cream in Aqua Scum I like the whipped creams and this scent was nice very sea like and summer and nice.

Repurchase: Yes

Bodycare (1)

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Third Times The Charm Bath Fizzy this was a very relaxing scent I enjoyed it and it turned the water a very pretty mostly opaque grey another plus. It lose marks for leaving a glitter ring around my tub that I had to clean off.

Repurchase: No
