Well I tried to pick it up this month and still didn’t do great I need just under $700 worth of product in the next two months to meet my goal. It seems very not doable.

Skincare (10)

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil hated this it really wasn’t that great at breaking down heavy makeup and it stung my eyes.

Repurchase: No

Equate Beauty Makeup Remover Wipes these are dupes for the blue Neutrogena wipes that I really hate and I dislike these slightly less they are slightly less harsh then the Neutrogena ones but I still would not recommend these.

Repurchase: No

Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum I was unimpressed with this I didn’t see as much brightening as I did with the Sunday Riley Vitamin C oil.

Repurchase: No

Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment this is a great spot treatment been using it for years. I feel like it works better hten other ones even if they are exactly the same. I am currently testing it against the cvs version just because they were out and the cvs one was on sale so I’ll have that to compare it too.

Repurchase: Yes

Dr. Jart+ Focuspot Dark Spot Micro Tip Patch I don’t feel like these did anything at all.

Repurchase: No

Clinique Take the Day Off Balm my all-time favorite eye makeup remover I have yet to find anything as good as this one.

Repurchase: Forever and always

Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb The Super Hydrating Mask Anti-Fatigue I like these sheet masks a lot I used to get coupons and get them for free all the time from CVS so I have tons of the ones from this line. This one is supposed to be hydrating and like refreshing for tired skin but it is just hydrating.

Repurchase: Maybe

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Skin Facial Cleansing Towelettes these are fine they are gentle they get some makeup off but not much. They just don’t beat out my favorite Green Garnier ones.

Repurchase: No

Olay Oil Minimizing Toner I really really loved this it was so good at minimizing oil and making my face feel clean without drying it out. It was almost identical to the Peter Thomas Roth pads that come in the blue tub just without salicylic acid but unfortunately they have since reformulated and I just don’t know if it will be as good.

Repurchase: Why reformulate something so good?!

Clinique Clarifying Lotion in 3 this was ok I don’t see the hype with these they are just a toner. Nothing that special. It was fine it did what it was supposed to do but it wasn’t magical.

Repurchase: No

Almay Oil Free Makeup Eraser Sticks these were horrendous they broke super easily the remover wouldn’t make it to the tip of the cotton bud most of the time. These were just a fail.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Deodorant in Salem I like having a natural deodorant for days I am not really doing anything but this is my last full size one and I have one tiny sample left and I don’t plan on buying any more right now for the sake of just having less stuff and saving some money. I am also kinda over this one I feel like they must have changed the formulation because these have been melting on me the last few ones I have had and they never used to do that and it is kinda a mess.

Repurchase: No

First & Free 150 mg Everyday CBD Cream * I put this on a spot I was having some really bad muscle pain/injury and it helped a little but this is more something you have to use long term to get results from.

Repurchase: No

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Laundry Detergent in Come What May so the last time I used their detergent I hated it because it never broke down in my machine and left weird soap clumps all over my clothes this one didn’t do that nearly as much I had like two soap clumps. I still don’t prefer this detergent though.

Bath and Body Works Wallflower in Wakiki Beach Coconut I love this scent so I loved this wallflower. I love coconut scents.

Repurchase: Probably

Bath and Body Works Merry Cookie Single Wick Candle this was fine it smelled warm and sweet the single wick candles burn a decent amount of time for how small they are.

Repurchase: Maybe

Wishes Candle Company Boulevard Brews this smelled good but the scent through was meh and the burn time was not as long as I would want from a candle this expensive. The glitter also wasn’t stuck down completely and ended up exploding everywhere when I opened it. The pin hidden inside was really fun and one of the biggest attractions to purchasing this candle.

Repurchase: No

Wishes Candle Company Another Glorious Morning this had a very very short burn time. I have a weird feeling that the ounces of wax claimed in the candle isn’t what is stated because they are not accounting for the volume of space that the hidden pin takes up. That is just my though based on the displacement when you pull the pin out I haven’t actually measured to see it that is the case or not. The burn time on these candles is just really short.

Repurchase: No

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Scented Candle this had no scent throw but did burn a long time for such an itty bitty candle. It smelled great but you had to be like right on top of it to smell it.

Repurchase: No

Target Candle in Bubbling Cauldron this really had no scent but I really just wanted this tiny adorable little cauldron. These ceramic tiny candles from Target are a really good deal to get the tiny adorable little containers.

Repurchase: Yes

Alaffia Good Soap in Coconut I cut this in half and used half as hand soap and half to wash my brushes and it was serviceable at both. I liked that it didn’t dry out my brushes or my hands. Its also usually on sale at Whole Foods.

Repurchase: Probably

Fortune Cookie Soap Company There’s No Place Like Home Fortune Cookie Soap I don’t love the ones that have glitter even though the glitter does rinse off. They last forever though even though they are tiny it is kinda impressive. I have so many of these soaps though I could never fathom having to buy one.

Repurchase: No need to but they are good.

Makeup (2)

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner I like this eyeliner it is pretty smooth and pretty black and lasts awhile but it isn’t as longlasting as super hero but I can get a much thinner liner with this so it more depends on the look I am going for.

Repurchase: Yes

Lancome Cils Booster XL Super Enhancing Mascara Base I never use lash primer it feels like such a useless extra step. I used this as white mascara because I had it and sometimes white mascara is fun for certain looks but I didn’t want to buy one.

Bath and Body Works Hand and Body Cream in Pomelo I really liked this enough to cut it open to get every little bit out. It smelled nice and bright and citrusy I really enjoyed this.

Repurchase: Yes

Bodycare (1)

Victoria Secret Ultra Clean Foam Coconut Oil Cleansing Body Mousse I hate every minute of this but only for personal preference reasons I like a body wash to have a strong scent it is what makes me happy and makes my showers feel like a treat this was so unscented it was weird like it had no scent whatsoever. I also needed a lot of the foam it really melted away under water super quickly.

Repurchase: No

Perfume (1)

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Always a Wildflower Blossom Perfume Oil so this isn’t totally empty but it has gotten to the point where the bits in it keep clogging up the roller ball so the perfume can’t come out or bits end up coming out and it’s just getting gross, so I am calling it done. The scent on this was so weird I liked it but it definitely isn’t for everyone it is a very herbally, lemony almost vinegar and oilish scent that smells very medicinal. I liked it but it also didn’t feel like perfume.

Repurchase: No

Haircare (1)

Garnier Whole Blends 10 in 1 Multipurpose Miracle Nectar Leave-in Treatment this was not as good as the orange damage eraser one I used up last month. It was also a bit tacky which I was not fond of.

Declutter (2)

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess I just don’t like this bronzer I feel like it is really patchy and hard to blend I don’t like the shimmer or the tone I just can’t get this to ever work for me I am done trying.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Perfume Oil in Garden Party I have so much perfume and I don’t think I am feeling the scent of this so it can go.

I was overall much happier with the products I used up this month then last month. I already have alot of products that I’ve used up for November so far so that is good but I still think I am going to miss my $3,500 goal.

Macy’s Beauty Box October 2020 Subscription Box Review

Macy’s Beauty Box

Cost: $15

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (sometimes $10), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it. Lately we have been getting between 6 and 8 items per month you never really know how many things you are going to get.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely seen in subscription boxes.

The cool thing about the coupon is that it is good in stores and online also Macy’s does have sales and $5 products so if you are strategic you can score a free product every month. Depending on your state you may still have to pay tax but it is still basically free.

So after a pretty long hiatus Macy’s Beauty Box is back. We are even getting the Jo Malone box hat we were supposed to get for May that every one was super excited about. I am also really excited about this box so let’s get into it.

The bag is super little but also super well made.

This has rose in it which makes it an automatic no go for me. Plus I am really not into florals. I do like that this is a sprayer and not a roll on.

I really wanted to like this I love pear scents but the freesia just gives it too clean of a scent for my tastes and I am just not feeling it.

I wish we had gotten this one in the bigger size. Especially since we got two florals this would have been better in a larger size to suit more people. This is a warmer more “masculine” scent but I really like it. It is very fall. I will probably use it up right away rather then saving it with all my other perfume samples.

This doesn’t really have a scent? It is a really rich luxe body cream though.and the container is really nice like worth saving.

This is the thing I am most excited for. I now get to experience a bougie candle that costs so much money maybe this will give me an idea of why certain candles are so outlandishly expensive but I have a feeling it wont. Still excited it smells really nice and light.

This was so fun to get so many different things from this line. I wish the bigger perfumes hadn’t both been florals but at least they were two very different types of florals. Not the best value Macy’s has ever done but a really nice fun brand overview of a brand that feels really unattainable due to the price.

I am really slowing down on empties and I don’t know if I am going to make my $3,500 value goal. I need like $900 in 3 months. With the rate I am going at right now I am going to fall short. I was trying to focus on more full size products and they just last a long time.

L’oreal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Cream Fragrance Free this is so thick and it actually left my skin pink I really didn’t like this at all. I don’t get why you would want your moisturizer to make you pink. So thick that I got three uses out of this tiny little sample

L’oreal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Eye Brightener not as bad as the moisturizer but still really thick and hard to blend in.

Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser this was fine as a cleanser nothing special nothing awful.

Medusa’s Makeup Black Hawaiian Sea Salt Facial Scrub this was way too harsh to be a facial scrub. I used it up as a body scrub and it was lovely that way really scrubby and the right amount of oils to leave my skin really soft. I hated it for my face though the one time I tried it. They don’t make this one any more it is a sea salt roses one. But as a body scrub I recommend.

Caolion Blackhead O2 Bubble Pore Pack so this mask was super fun it’s the kind that bubbles up and gets all foamy on your face. I really enjoyed it but I don’t think it really did anything for my skin but I want to try other foamy masks now.

Trader Joe’s Watermelon Facial Mist this was nice and it was cheap it smelled good I like face mists this was fun.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company We Were On A Break Teeth Whitener I didn’t like this at all this was not nearly as good as other charcoal toothpastes I have tried. It had no grit and I don’t feel like I got the same clean and whitening benefits as I did from other charcoal pastes. It also clumped up really weird in my mouth while I was brushing. TMI but true.

Repurchase: No

Tarte Maracuja Oil I used this for hair and my face and just as a multi use oil mostly when I travel or stay over somewhere where. It is nice because I can use it for lots of purposes and it works alright at all of them but not great at any of them. I would use it again but I won’t buy it.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company OCD Hand Sanitizer in Can’t Touch This welcome to 2020 we use hand sanitizer like it is going out of style now. I liked this one because it wasn’t really scented where you could smell it but it was scented just enough to cover the alcohol so it smelled like nothing which was a nice change from a lot of the other sanitizers I’ve been using a lot.

Pacifica Cherry Kiss Hydrating Lipstick Wipes I love these for taking off matte liquid lipsticks they make it easy and comfortable and they taste really good.

Home Scents (2)

Yankee Candle Red Apple Wreath I swear this candle smelled different every time I burned it. I got this for free it was fine and it burned along time but I don’t really love yankee candle for whatever reason.

Repurchase: No

Yankee Candle Easy Meltcup in Roseberry Sorbet I clearly wasn’t paying enough attention when I bought this or I would not have bought it I didn’t realize it was a floral. I hated the scent but beside that I hated the quality of this wax it was so highly dye that the dye would like separate out of the wax as it was melting and it was really hard to clean out of my wax melter.

Lip (2)

Chapstick in Key Lime I really liked this it was a good chapstick I loved the lime. A+

Repurchase: Yes, except I have like 2 years worth of lip balm so not anytime soon

Alaffia Everyday Coconut Vegan Lip Balm this was more like a cookie then coconut. It was fine but nothing I would go out of my way to spend the money on.

Tarte Stay Spray Setting Spray I really really liked this it is almost as good as Urban Decay All Nighter and it is a little cheaper I think. So good great sprayer.

Hank & Henry Stick With it Long Wear Liquid Eyeliner in Blickity Black this has started to go on all patchy and like almost clear in spots so I think it has come to the end of its useful life. I didn’t like this at all it was difficult to work with not super black and not long wearing.

Colourpop Brow Boss in Brunette hated this so hard to work with really dry and scratchy on the skin.

Repurchase: No

Lancôme Hypnose Drama I don’t really like Lancôme mascaras they are so clumpy and gooey.

Avon Foot Works Deep Moisture Cream this was not good as the the other foot cream I used up from Avon this was really thick but didn’t feel like it was penetrating well. Either way I don’t like to support MLMs even though the products themselves are often good.

Da Bomb Fun Size Fizzers in Cozy Bomb this was more warm fall scent then pumpkin spice scented which I greatly preferred. It came with a super adorable red leaf charm inside that I loved. It was a really nice bath bomb a little small for a full bath tub though If I ever bought these again I would get the full size ones.

Haircare (5)

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Liquid Strength Treatment With Protein you put this in your wet hair and it is supposed to reduce breakage and I feel like it worked and it has that nice Garnier scent. You do need a fair amount though.

Earth’s Nectar Mint Leaves Scalp Oil I really liked this it made my scalp feel invigorated and it would help anytime my scalp was itchy. I wish it came in a spray rather than a pump though.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt this used to be like such a favorite for me but I think it is just to drying and hard to work in now. I need to find another scalp scrub that works for me.

Cake The Posh Wash Shampoo I hated this it made my hair feel like straw and instantly tangled it so much I immediately would have to conditioner and then a hair mask every time I washed my hair.

Repurchase: HELL NO

Cake The Soft Serve Cream Rinse Conditioner this was not very conditioning at all I would use it to reverse the straw feeling of the shampoo and then have to put on a hair mask everything about these products was awful.

Declutter (1)

Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Butter this went bad. It changed colors and had this weird plastic crayon like scent to it.

Very poor showing this month and I wasn’t really overly thrilled about most of the stuff I used up.
