What’s In My Trash? June 2020

Well I am back at work now and it isn’t great its very stressful and hard and scary and my empties slowed right the hell down with how busy I am. Plus my skin is freaking out from having a mask on so much that I don’t even want to try to put to much on it. Oh life.

Any products marked with an (*) were sent free to me in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. I’ve got no reason to lie.

Skincare (9)

Biore Witch Hazel Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips these are fun once and awhile for pulling some gunk out I do feel like the Biore ones work the best.

Repurchase: Maybe

The Inkey List Retinol I don’t feel like I really saw any results from this I don’t think it is a strong enough retinol.

Repurchase: No

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads I know people swear by these but I don’t get it I don’t feel like they do anything. I would mostly use them as my toning step in the morning but I don’t think they do anything.

Repurchase: No

Cure Natural Aqua Gel hated this. This is the one of those exfoliators that pills up and wants you to think that it is your dead skin but its not. This did nothing and I think that pilling up feeling is gross.

Repurchase: No

Garnier SkinActive Glow Boost Fresh-Mix Sheet Mask this was decently nice. I mean you can’t expect to see a ton of results form a vitamin c mask because vitamin c is that kinda thing you need to use long term. Because the serum is kept separate from the mask and you get to like pop a bubble and soak the mask there was so much extra serum I was able to fill up like two of my little containers I use to save extra serum and keep using the serum for like almost a week so that was nice. I am always able to coupon these from CVS for free or at most like 50 cents so for those prices I would recommend definitely wait for sales and coupons.

Repurchase: Yes

L’oreal Pure Clay Mask in Purify and Matify (*) these L’oreal masks are actually really good for the price they come in these heavy glass jars, I wish the lids were nice so I could reuse them, and they work really well. This is like my favorite Body shop mask that has tea tree in it for blemishes but this doesn’t have the tea tree. This works almost as well so if you can’t afford the body shop once because it is so pricey for what it is this might be a good option for you. I won’t purchase this one again but there are other from this line like the clean and comfort that I would repurchase.

Repurchase: No

Dr. Jart+ Focuspot Blemish Micro Tip Patch these are not worth the price. You get so few in a pack and they are packaged in such a wasteful way like each patch is individually sealed in a plastic clam shell with the stuff to cover the sticky part and then in a bag and then all in the bigger bag it is so excessive. I want to try more micro tip patched but I don’t feel like these did anything to help heal my spots.

Repurchase: No

No7 Dark Spot Correcting Booster Serum so this did work a little I did see brightening and reduction in the appearance of the one dark spot I have but it was not massive and it took a really long time to see that reduction for the price I would want more dramatic results because I know I can get a stronger Vitamin C serum and see the same level of results faster and cheaper.

Repurchase: No

The Body Shop Mint Mattifying Face Mist I didn’t really like this it felt sticky and weird on my face and because it was mint it kinda stung around my eyes.

Repurchase: No

Random (2)

Secret Invisible Solid Shower Fresh Deodorant I don’t like this deodorant and I knew that when I bought it but I bought it on my last day of pre quarantine shopping back in March because I couldn’t remember if I had any left and I didn’t want to be deodorant less. This was what was available and cheap where I was so I grabbed and figured I could use it up while I wasn’t doing much and it really didn’t matter. This just its really thick and I don’t feel like it lasts very long and doesn’t work really hard it just doesn’t work for me.

Repurchase: No

Fortune Cookie Soap Company OCD Hand Sanitizer in Evenstar we’re all using hand sanitizer a lot now I’m glad I had such a back stock of them. This one had glitter in it which I don’t like because it stays on you and everything you touch but it is what it is.

Repurchase: No

Home Scents (4)

Trader Joe’s Scented Candle in Grapefruit I really like the Trader Joe’s candles they have a good scent throw and they smell really nice but they do burn through really quickly, but they are cheap.

Repurchase: Yes

Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Single Wick Candle this was fine it was a fine vanilla scented candle.

Repurchase: Maybe

Bath and Body Works  PB & J Candle this did smell like peanut butter but not in a cookie kinda way but there wasn’t much jelly scent. It was an ok candle with ok throw but nothing really special.

Repurchase: No

Bath and Body Works Wallflower in Berry Waffle Cone this smelled really good. Some days the berry sweetness came through a lot and other days I could smell more of the cone but it was always really nice and strong.

Repurchase: Yes

Makeup (1)

Latex Eyelash Glue non branded tiny lash glue I have nothing to say really it wasn’t very sticky and it was really clumpy.

Repurchase: No

Lotion (1)

Bath and Body Works Body Lotion in Energy I love the energy scent so this was super nice to use because it smells so good. I find them pretty moisturizing most of the time but every now and then I’ll find that my skin gets dry or irritated just because these are so fragranced but it normally isn’t a problem I just know I can’t do it when my skin is upset.

Repurchase: Yes

Bodycare (1)

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Jelly Soap in Cosmic Unicorn I think for a kid this would be super fun but for me it was more work then I wanted to put in. You have to rip of a piece crush it up in your sponge and then lather. It lathered super well and it lasted a really long time I thought I would use it up in like a week or two but it lasted for months of showering because a little went a long way.

Repurchase: No

Perfume (1)

Delectable Hair and Body Mist in Coconut & Cream this was like a really light body splash the scent was nice but it faded super-fast. It was a good at home during quarantine perfume though so it was nice to have something comforting to use everyday and get used up.

Repurchase: No

Haircare (1)

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Deep Conditioner in Whale Talk these deep conditioners are pretty nice very moisturizing and I kinda like the very thick consistency they have I feel like it helps it stay on my hair and soak in a little better.

Repurchase: Maybe

Declutter (1)

Pacifica Stellar Gaze Mineral Mascara in Supernova this was terrible it barely did anything to my lashes it was useless.

Well I really didn’t use up much this month I could have done better but I just didn’t even try. I am just so blah at this point. I am well on track for the month and the year. I needed to have $1750 in by the end of this month and I have $1940.75 in so I mean that’s good.

Walmart Spring 2020 Beauty Box Subscription Review

Walmart Beauty Box

Cost: $5

Cycle: Every Quarter/Season

What is it: Every season Walmart sends out a box of samples and sometimes coupons in their “free” subscription box. The box is a flat shipping rate of $5 and the box is considered free.  There are two categories of boxes “Trendsetter” which you receive if you provide a birth date that has you aged at under 35 and “Classic” if you provide a birth date that has you aged above 35.

Another great box from Walmart this really is such a good subscription box I really do recommend it to everyone.

Salon Perfect Nail Set in Design

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $4.94

I don’t like having long nails so these are not for me but I mean a full nail set that you could potential get to full sets out of that’s pretty awesome and this alone is 6 cents shy of the cost of the box. Also considering most people cant go to the nail salon right now what a good thing to get in the box. I think the marble is really cool nails are just not for me.

Biore Rose Quartz + Charcoal Daily Purifying Cleanser

Full Size: 200 ml

Full Size Cost: $6.47

Sample Size: 29 ml

Total Value: $0.94

First off who is out here wanting glitter in their face wash? Second of all how is my cleanser radiating self love please what am I missing here? This feels like random buzzword vomit lol. Besides all that I normally like Biore products alot so I am keen to chuck this in with my travel stuff to use up that way. The glitter is that small pearlesent kind so I don’t think it is going to leave glitter on my face.

Suave Professionals for Natural Hair Curl Defining Cream

Full Size: 355 ml

Full Size Cost: $4.98

Sample Size: 2 x 15 ml

Total Value: $0.21 each

I don’t have curly hair so I will pass this along but it does make me interested about the leave in conditioners from this line and there was a coupon. These products are really affordable.

Natural Vitality Calm in Raspberry-Lemon Flavor

Full Size: 453 g

Full Size Cost: $23.09

Sample Size: 3.3 g

Total Value: $0.17

I have heard so much about this specific Magnesium supplement drink. I have taken Magnesium supplements before and have felt alot of benefit from them (I should really take them more consistently). I have heard this is really fast acting and god for anxiety so I am really looking forward to putting that to the test probably sooner then I would prefer.

Hello Antiplaque + Whitening Fluoride Free Toothpaste in Natural Peppermint

Full Size: 4.7 oz

Full Size Cost: $3.97

Sample Size: 1 oz

Total Value: $0.84

This I am kinda disappointed in I don’t like or use fluoride free toothpaste. I may throw this in with travel stuff I may pass it along I just don’t feel like there is a huge amount of purpose to a fluoride free toothpaste once you are old enough to know not to eat your toothpaste.

Hello Charcoal Infused Toothbrush

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $3.96

I have wanted to try this toothbrush since I found out about it back in like January and haven’t had the chance. I love really soft charcoal tooth brushes and the all black sleekness of it super appeals to me. So happy about this.

If Walmart can give me one to two full size items every time Ipsy could do it too. The value of the things I will use is over the value of the shipping and the items are both bractical and fun.

Royal and Langnickel Moda Angled Shader Brush

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $5

I absolutely love Royal and Langnickel brushes and the MODA line is super cute and very soft. Also very dense. This brush in orange is part of a set but it comes in other colors individually. This is really god for packing on color or even for blending in concealer or bases.

Suntique I’m Pure Perfect Cica SPF 50

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $24

Sample Size: 15 ml

Value: $7.20

This was my choice for the month I have always heard good things about Asian sunscreens and I wanted to try one since I am super sensitive to sunscreen and most give me allergic reactions or break outs. This seems a bit thick but I won’t really know until I can wear it out in the sun which isn’t really possible right now.

Dr. Botanicals Cocoa & Coconut Superfood Reviving Hydrating Mask

Full Size: 30 ml

Full Size Cost: $12.99

Sample Size: 30 ml

Value: $12.99

This is so tiny for a full size. I don’t know if I will end up keeping this as I don’t really need a hydrating face mask but it is always nice to get a full size. I bet it smells good considering there is cocoa and coconut in it.

Ciate Wonderwand Mascara in Black Magic

Full Size: 9.1 g

Full Size Cost: $22

Sample Size: ?

Value: ?

The size isn’t listed on the packaging so I have no idea how big this is. I know I have gotten more then one of these before but I can’t remember what I think of it. I love getting these travel size mascaras I use them all the time. Not just for travel I feel like they get used up faster so they stay more sanitary.

Real Her Moisturizing Lipstick in Girlpower Deep Mauve

Full Size: 3.5 g

Full Size Cost: $18

Sample Size: 2 g

Value: $10.29

My problem with Real Her is that the shades are never accurate to what they say they are this isn’t a deep mauve its a very pinky shade. This is also ultra creamy the kind that slides around on your lips I am not a huge fan.

Better bag then last month but still not that that great it is always a good month when I get a brush from a brand I like though.
