Glamour Ghouls Beauty Bag November 2017

Glamour Ghouls Beauty Bag

Cost: $10 monthly + $3 shipping

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: A beauty bag for all of us strange and unusual beauty lovers out there. Those of us who like things a little darker and creepier then the average beauty lover. I am a huge horror lover still wear all black all day every day. I would rather go to a metal show then a club any day of the week. I personally think my aesthetic is goth my little pony so this was a subscription right up my alley.

I have review one of the normal Glamour Ghoul Boxes before you can check that one out HERE. Just like that box you have to sign up for this box every month and if you miss the preorder you miss that month but you always can try again next month. They will feature all Indie Brands

This was the inaugural beauty bag for Glamour Ghouls so I was really excited I got this one in November and am signed up for the December one as well. And then I will decide if this is something I wish to continue in the future. (I am not getting the January Bag).

As is par for the course when dealing with small indie brands there are often delays and what not this box did come very late to the end of November but still came before the month was up (more then I can say for my November reviews) so I consider that a success for them on their first box.

So I saw some other posts and a variety of bags were sent out lots of cute plaids and ghosties and I of course got spiders, I HATE spiders, just my luck. Everyone did receive the same products though. I also really appreciate the little card with details on the companies so you can find them because that is hard with indie brands sometimes.

Chirality Polish in The Night Runner (mini size)

Full Size: 5 ml

Full Size Cost: $5

Sample Size: 5 ml

Value: $5

I never paint my nails as you can tell by the hack job in this swatch but omg is this just gorgeous it makes me want to get my nails done it is so pretty and holographic and just mesmerizing to look at.  It is a greeny brown base with multicolored holographic glitter in it. I am keeping this because I just have to maybe I’ll get my nails done.

Rebel Rouge Labs Lip Balm in Blue Raspberry

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $2.50

This is not currently for sale but according to the Instagram account this is valued at $2.50 which is really inexpensive for an indie chapstick and a ton of product. I hate to beat up on an small brand but I do have to be honest this is not my favorite. I do not like pot style chapsticks and my tin arrive all beat up and dented. This does smell just like blue raspberry though. I just don’t know how much use I will get out of it. It is very slick on the lips and kinda messy.

Spoiled Lips Liquid Lipstick in Poker Face

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $11

I have a few of these all received in connection with Glamour Ghouls actually one in the Batty Box and 2 that came with they collaboration eyeshadow palette which I loved. Unfortunately I don’t love the formula. It is hard to work with it is patch and dries extremely quickly and while it does stay on forever you can see how dry it is so it doesn’t always look the best. I will keep them because they are such fun colors but it is more of a special look for a picture type of lipstick for me then something I would be comfortable wearing out and about being so dry. This is a very poop brown type of color. Swatched Below.

Dirty Glam Cosmetics

Full Size:

Full Size Cost: $

Sample Size:

Value: $

As is often the story with Indie Brands people have lives and the owner is currently on vacation so I I don’t have any information on this product I will update it next week when the site it live again. This is a gorgeous gold loose shadow mush thinner and sheerer then a Medusa’s Makeup pigment but still very nice and holiday appropriate I may actually wear it this Saturday to a Christmas Party I will update with that picture too if I do. I tend to wing my makeup with how I am feeling that day. Swatched Below.

Total: $18.50 without the eyeshadow

So the value is there you are getting probably double your money which is great and what I expect out of a subscription of this type. For first impressions I am unfortunately meh about this box but I truly love the concept so will probably keep picking up bags here and there even if it is not a regular monthly thing I do.

What’s In My Trash (A.K.A. An Empties Post) November 2017

I used up a shit ton this month. I went on a little mini vacation in in the beginning of November (Which honestly feels like a lifetime ago not just 5 weeks ago) so there is a separate picture of those empties since I am not in the habit of packing my trash up.

Vacation Empties

Kiss Professional Pro Touch Primer Omg one I used and one is being decluttered this burned my skin when I put it on and made my foundation peel off in dry flakey sheets. This is the worst thing I have ever put on my skin.

Repurchase: No, not even if its free

Travel toothbrush I love travel toothbrushes that are nice and contained and clean but it was time for this one to go. I prefer the ones that fold into themselves.

Repurchase: No

Crest Pro Health toothpaste a perfectly fine toothpaste.

Repurchase: Sure

Eva Nyc Hair Towelette I had high hopes that this would take down the frizzies and make my hair smooth and shiny but it really did nothing.

Repurchase: No

Skin Fix Cleansing Cloths these did a good job of taking off my makeup but weren’t really that impressive.

Repurchase: No

Estee Lauder Foundation I don’t remember the exact type of this sample but it was heavy and cakey.

Repurchase: No

Dior Poison Girl Perfume this I really enjoyed the smell is so nice and like darkly fruity.

Repurchase: Yes

Fresh Black Tea Firming Corset Cream I didn’t see and firming but it was a ince moisturizer.

Repurchase: No

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash I hate Dove body washes as I’ve said before I don’t feel clean after I use them.

Repurchase: No

Declutter

Gourmand Pistachio Brulee Candle This smelled nice in the jar but had no scent when burning and burned terribly It was black and lumpy the wick was weird this was a shitty candle.

Random chapstick as I said trying to move all these non branded not special chapsticks out of my collection.

Colourpop Crystal Lip Balm in Amber this came in a set from Sephora.  The other two products are good but this is awful. It smells like sweat and it is stick and not a great color like a dirty orange.

Catrice Highlighting powder this has to much glitter and I just don’t need it and will never use it so off it goes.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Soap in Valley Girl this was messy with the glitter and I didn’t like the scent so I threw it out (Who would want used soap lol).

Gillette shaving cream this is only a declutter because the pump broke and I can’t get the rest of the gel out, but I do like this and will have it again in the future sometimes stuff like that just happens. I usually get these for free or almost free with sales and coupons so I am not overly upset.

Candles

Victoria Secret Pink Candle in Midnight Sage this was great at first and then I don’t know I feel like it went bad and started to smell really  strong in a bad way.

Repurchase: No

Bath and Body Works Vampire Blood Mini Candle I loved the scent on this one it was raspberries.

Repurchase: Yes

Bath and Body Works Creep It Real Mini Candle this is the Mahogany Teakwood candle and I hate it. It came in the set of mini candles I bought and that is the only reason I used it up.

Repurchase: No

Soap

Bath and Body Works Creamy Body Wash in Champagne Apple & Honey this was a great body wash it was creamy and luxe feeling and a nice fresh apple scent.

Repurchase: Yes

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Soap used it up but it wasn’t memorable.

Repurchase: No

Skin Care

Primark Men’s Facial Wipes cheap and they get the job done.

Repurchase: Yes

Primark Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes these are better then the makeup removes but not as good as the men’s ones.

Repurchase: No

Earth’s Recipe Stem Water Cleanser I assumed this was going to be gentle boy was I wrong this dried the hell out of my skin. I would not recommend this.

Repurchase: No

Kiel’s Creamy Eye Treatment this was so thick like I could hardly rub it in. Just not delicate enough for my eye area.

Repurchase: No

Belif Hungarian Water Essence this was lovely a nice light watery moisturizer.

Repurchase: Yes

elf Eye refresher this really did nothing other then feel slightly cool.

Repurchase: No

Random

Degree Motion Sense Deodorant this was fine.

Repurchase: Yes

Old Spice Fiji Mini Deodorant I like these for travel or in my work bag men’s minis are cheaper so I get those they last longer too.

Repurchase: Yes

Wally’s Vitamin E Oil this is eh. Didn’t do much for my scars.

Repurchase: No

Sephora Cotton Rounds These work they don’t shed that’s all I really need.

Repurchase: Yes

Japonesque Solid Brush Cleanser this was alright but I am still looking for a holy grail brush cleanser.

Repurchase: No

Tony Moly Shiny Foot this is one of those foot peeling masks this leaked and was not nearly as good as other ones I have tried. Took double the time to start peeling and did not peel as much or as well.

Repurchase: No

Lip Care

Lasting Smiles Peppermint Vanilla Chapstick this was sweet and minty and felt great on the lips. I always feel so accomplished when I use up a chapstick.

Repurchase: No only because I don’t know where to get them

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Original and Champagne these are so sticky and not at all hydrating or repairing I don’t get what people are raving about. I have one more little sample to use up but they suck.

Repurchase: No

Makeup

Fenty Beauty Foundation I wasn’t really a fan it wasn’t a great texture on me and wasn’t really that long wearing either.

Repurchase: No

Urban Decay Primer Potion I didn’t think it was possible to use one of these up but I did. I am not a fan of this one which is Eden and truth be told I’m bored of this primer in general having been using it for years.

Repurchase: No, I still have like three more tubes

Hair Care

Marajó Cleansing Cream this was ok kinda felt like normal shampoo.

Repurchase: No

Marajó Deep Treatment Butter this was great but I wouldn’t want to use it not as part of the system so I won’t be getting this either.

Repurchase: No

Perfume

Prada Candy this was too sweet I didn’t like it.

Repurchase: No

I’m not going to make double my goal but pretty damn close. I am so pleased with myself over how much I have used up this year. I normally am such a product hoarder that it is hard for me to use stuff up and let it go. I am really hapy and proud and it has really helped me see what I do and don’t like in a product.

If you want to subscribe you can subscribe HERE and skip the waitlist. That is my referral link so I do get points to spend but I’m not an affiliate I don’t make any money or anything it’s just one beauty junkie to another.

Well here is another very very late review. But here it is all the same. There is going to be a day by day opening of an advent calendar on my Instagram soon so stay tuned for that.

SL Miss Glam B36 Tapered Highlight Brush

Full Size: Set of 5

Full Size Cost: $69.99

Sample Size: 1 brush

Value: $14

So you can’t buy these brushes individually so I found a tapered highlight in on of the sets and based it off that. It seems like a really nice quality brush but I am not a huge fan of the rhinestones on the ferrel.

Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix

Full Size: 12 ml

Full Size Cost: $14

Sample Size: 5 ml

Value: $5.83

I have been on a real fancy lip balm kick so this is really cool. It is a nice berry scent but I’m eh about the texture it is almost like smoothly gritty. I know that doesn’t make any sense but that is the best way I can describe it.

Lime Crime Diamond Crusher in Lit

Full Size: ?

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: ?

Value: $8

There is no size listed but this mini is for sale so I am going with that price. This is the  most sparkely omg thing ever. I just wanted to paint myself in it. It is supposed to be a lip topped but is definitely opaque enough to wear on its own. Swatched Below.

Tini Beauty Barfly Highlighter in Candlelit

Full Size: 0.12 oz

Full Size Cost: $12

Sample Size: 0.12 oz

Value: $12

This is a really pretty cream highlighter it is very buildable but such a pretty soft but in your face cream. Is shows up as more of a pinky pearl then a real candlelit color though. Swatched Below.

Colourpop Pressed Shadow in Paper Tiger

Full Size: 1.5 g

Full Size Cost: $4

Sample Size: 1.5 g

Value: $4

I was really hoping for the other shade that was sent out this mustardy yellow color is just not my thing. The formula is very smooth and pigmented so I would definitely see myself trying more in the future. Swatched Below.

Lip topper, highlight, eyeshadow

I was pleasantly surprised with this months bag probably the best one all year. Good Job Ipsy!
