Thought I canceled this….Apparently not? Odd but this surprise package actually ended up being really up my alley.

False Lashes – Heavy

Full Size: 1 pair and Glue

Full Size Cost: $9

Sample Size: 1 pair and Glue

Value: $9

This is a repeat product they sent this back in October 2016 one of the first reviews I ever wrote for this blog. I will probably gift these I still have my original pair that I have never touched.

Metal AF Lipgloss in Cherry Pie

Full Size: 6 ml

Full Size Cost: $11

Sample Size: 6 ml

Value: $11

This I am in fucking love with it really is Metal AS Fuck. It is also not a lip gloss this is a matte metallic liquid lipstick. I want every shade. I really does not budge and it does need to be layer but I love it. All the shades are named after rock songs too so I really love it and it is so pretty! Cherry Pie is a really deep brick, blood red. Swatched Below.

Eye Dust in Ultra Violence

Full Size: 1.5 g

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 1.5 g

Value: $8

Any one else love the A Clockwork Orange reference? Just me? This is another pretty shade it is a silvery purplely white ish shade of loose shimmer pigment. Swatched below.

Totally Baked Eyeshadow in Whatever

Full Size: 2 g

Full Size Cost: $9

Sample Size: 2 g

Value: $9

This is a very pretty silver grey. It is soft considering it is a baked shadow but it also has a ton of fallout. Swatched Below.

Whatever, Ultra Violence, Cherry Pie.

The two eyeshadows are both extremely shimmer and opaque they are very nice not at all patchy.

The lipgloss is a little patchy but definitely pigmented in real life you can see a bit of metallicness to the color but on camera it is to subtle to show.

Total Value: $37

I was actually really pleased with this box that I didn’t expect to get. While I think it is sucky that they repeated a product for most people you would need a new pair by now. But the Metal AF gloss I never would have thought to try and now I am in love. That really made the whole box for me.

Every month I have been more and more disappointed with this subscription and this should be the last month I attempted to cancel so let’s see if it worked.

The mailer was so cute this month I had to show it off.

Lip Paint in Cowgirl

Full Size: 1.5 g

Full Size Cost: $12

Sample Size: 1.5 g

Value: $12

This is the only thing In the bag that I am keeping this month. Everything else is being gifted to new homes. This is a weird color very early 2000s foundation lips. But I have nothing like it so I am keeping it. Swatched Below.

Brow Wow Wow

Full Size: 2 g

Full Size Cost: $12

Sample Size: 2 g

Value: $12

The pop art packaging is cool but I have no interest is filling in my eyebrows let alone filling them in with powder so this has been passed along to my mom. With the brush but we will get to that later on. The brow side is definitely an eyebrow powder it is stiffer and more of a buildable formula. The highlight on the other hand is super powdery and pick up in chucks and is fairly glittery/metallic for an eyebrow highlight and after swatching I am  99% sure it is the exact same as one of their new baked eye shadows Bitchin’ that we received in May. It isn’t a good brow highlight they would have been better off with a matte highlight or just not even including one. Swatched Below

Glitter in Mystique

Full Size: 2

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 2

Value: $8

This is a gorgeous light blue mermaidy glitter I am not going to swatch it so that I can leave the seal on and give it away I just never use loose glitters I am just not into it. They do have very pretty soft glitters if that is your  thing you should really check them out.

Angle Eyeliner Brush

Full Size: 4 brushes

Full Size Cost: $18

Sample Size: 1 brush

Value: $4.50

The Medusa’s Makeup brushes really are not that great quality they break they don’t blend or pick up product well I have 1 dollar brushes from Shop Miss A and Amazon that are so much better for so much cheaper. Also the card claims that this is an $8 brush. First of all you can only buy this is a set of 4 for $18 dollars so that is $4.5 by my calculation and second of all this is not worth $8. This brush actually was soft and dense as you would want in an angled liner brush but I gifted this to my mom to go with the eyebrow powder I gave her.

They also included a bonus Beach Bag this month it is about 18in x 16 in so not exactly beach bag size but it is super cute and probably the nicest most useful thing in the bag for me.

Total Value: $36.50

Definitely not the $45 value they claim. The “beach bag” was a cute touch and probably my favorite thing in the bag. I unfortunately didn’t love anything in this month’s bag so this month was a total waste of money for me and with that I will officially be canceling.

Medusa’s Makeup May 2017 Subscription Box Review

Medusa’s Makeup

Two of their newest products so I can’t complain at all this month.

Glitter in Pegasus

Full Size: 3 g

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 3 g

Value: $8

So I totally forgot to take a picture of this one, but it looks like all the other glitters we have received just a different color. We get their glitters frequently and I rarely use them I tend to pass them on unless they are truly unique. I really don’t use a ton of glitter. This too will get passed on Pegasus does not stick together as well as some of their other glitters have. It is swatched at the end though that I didn’t forget.

Lip Paint in Shag

Full Size: 0.34 oz

Full Size Cost: $12

Sample Size: 0.34 oz

Value: $12

These are truly permanent they are so hard to remove but the lip paint remover they sent does get it off. I don’t love this color but I do like the formula. This is a very 90s pink like barbie but not neon. Swatched below.

Lip Paint Remover

Full Size: 0.17 oz

Full Size Cost: $10

Sample Size: 0.17 oz

Value: $10

This does work to get their impossible to remove lip paints off. I love a good liquid lip remover so I am all about this but it is a tiny bottle for the price.

Totally Bake Eyeshadow in Bitchin’

Full Size: 2 g

Full Size Cost: $9

Sample Size: 2 g

Value: $9

I have been eyeing these baked shadows since they released them and am so super stoked to get one. They have that traditional scratchy feel that a baked shadow has but I can live with that since it is supposed to be that way. There is decent amount of fallout from this but it applies well and is a gorgeous cream and gold with shimmer this actually really reminds me of Urban Decay’s highlighter in Sin that I just got in my Ipsy bag.

Eyeshadow, Glitter, Lip paint.

Total: $39

I was happy enough with the value of the box this month. The seem to have raised the price of their glitters from $7 to $8 dollars and this card was printed before that price change is my guess leading to the higher value then stated on the card. I got the new eyeshadow and the lip paint removed which does make the box worth it for me this month every time I am ready to cancel they lure me back in with a decent box. I have a soft spot for them since they are vegan and cruelty free.
