This is such an ugly cheap feeling bag this month. Sometimes the bags are cute but lately we’ve gotten so not good ones.

Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream

Full Size: 25 ml

Full Size Cost: $10

Sample Size: 25 ml

Value: $10

There’s alot to say about this one so I am breaking into three parts; product, price, and confusingness.

The scent of this lotion is amazing it is like a warm sweet tropical yummy vanilla coconut and I want to smell it all day for the rest of my life. I unfortunately hate the lotion so much it leaves me feeling really really sticky my gf loves it and doesn’t have that problem so she’ll use this and the 2 others I just gave her and I’ll get to smell it on her lol. I wanted to buy the perfume but more on that in the confusingness section.

This size can be purchased for $10 I know that’s bonkers but I will count it as a full size because it can be purchased.

So this was sold on Sephora and seems to have been pulled and when you go on the Sol de Janeiro website it is all sold out everything from this scent is listed but sold out. I don’t know what that means I don’t know if it is being discontinued or reformulated or what but it is a mystery and a sad one. It also means that excess stock was cheaply sold to Ipsy to give to us which I don’t like.

SL Miss Glam Angles Eye E61 Brush

Full Size: 6 brushes

Full Size Cost: $39

Sample Size: 1 brush

Value: $6.50

This is estimated off another glitter brush set that is super similar. but in silver. SL Miss Glam brushes are really cute and reallly soft and really OVERPRICED. Their website is also awful to use it is baby pink on white so terrible unreadable and the sorting is impossible to use. just ugh. This brush is super cute tho it is a translucent handle with realy pretty emerald green glitter and green gems and green dyed bristles super pretty super soft.

Inc.Redible Jelly Shot Lip Quencher in Ex Revenge

Full Size: 4.4 g

Full Size Cost: $10

Sample Size: 1.02 g

Value: $2.32

I have never had one of these and it is so cute and fun with the little flower in it. This is just a clear balm seems moisturizing and has not scent or taste.

Suva Beauty Eyeshadow in Turmeric

Full Size: 4 g

Full Size Cost: $11

Sample Size: 1.5 g

Value: $4.13

So this shade isn’t for sale on their website. But I have been wanting to try Suva Beauty specifically their eyeliners but this eyeshadow feels like such nice quality it is really smooth and pigmented there. It blends well it isn’t chunky I really like it even if the shade wouldn’t be my first choice. Swatched Below.

Adesse New York All Day Lip Creme in Beverly Blvd.

Full Size: 3.2 g

Full Size Cost: $24

Sample Size: 3.2 g

Value: $24

This is described as a pink with a cool plum undertone and sure That sounds good lol. This is more creamy, glossy and slippery then I tend to like my lipsticks but it is a pretty color despite how cheap and dollar store like the packaging feels. Swatched Below.

This was an ok bag for me I love getting brushes I will definitely use the lip balm and really happy to have something from Suva even if it isn’t my color preference.

Boxycharm July 2019 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $21

Cycle: Every Month

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to.  It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for the reasonable price of $21 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box.

If you would like to subscribe you can use my referral link HERE. I don’t get anything other then points but would really appreciate it but do as you feel comfortable you are also welcome to use the link in the header that leads to the regular homepage.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

This month had a theme of natural and for a change they actually kinda made the products match the theme a bit.

Alamar Cosmetics Mother of Pearl Lip Gloss in Tesoro

Full Size:

Full Size Cost: $10

I don’t like lip gloss and nothing about this color even sorta excites me to try it so I am not swatching this so It can get passed on to a good home. This is a very shimmery glittery type of lip gloss that would be really impactful on the lips. I do love the packaging though A plus the textured water drop like lid is so cool.

Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask

Full Size: 2.5 oz

Full Size Cost: $35

I am getting a bit of a collection of Elemis skincare and I almost want to like hold off and try to do a few weeks of all Elemis or mostly Elemis skincare and see if it makes a difference in my skin. But this seems like it will be a really cool mask that I will enjoy. I do like nourishing masks when my skin feels uncomfortable or tired.

Luxie Gaea Brush Set

Full Size: 3 brushes

Full Size Cost: $30

This is a a really nice set of more unique brush shapes from Luxie. They also have wood handles instead of the normal plastic ones to go with the earth/natural theme. This set comes with a 510 Foundation Brush and I really needed a new flat foundation brush but wasn’t going to buy them because I so rarely use one but I really like having them for if I am doing a full glam look or if I am doing special event makeup. There is also 250 Large Eye Blending Brush which has a rally large flared our head with almost a flat top. I am not sure how to use this but it is definitely not a shape I have. The last is a 246 Precision Crease Brush but I normally would use something like this for packing on shimmers. I love Luxie brushes they are in my top 5 so never sad to see Luxie Brushes in my box.

Appeal Cosmetics Gel Liner in Deep Taupe

Full Size: 1.4 g

Full Size Cost: $21

I was hoping for the green shade but alas I got this one. This is almost like a plummy brown rather then a taupe shade. It is a nice smooth creamy get liner and it isn’t a wooden liner which I know is important to alot of people I don’t care either way as long as it isn’t scratchy. Swatched Below.

Butter London Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette

Full Size: 6 eyeshadows

Full Size Cost: $26.50

So this palette was exclusive to Khol’s and I think it is probably going away soon since it is on sale. I found the shades to all be really pretty and workable but the color choices struck me as odd. I feel like the matte blue should have been a matte forest green it would have complemented this palette more and worked with all the shades rather then the blue which is a bit out of place and seems put in just for the ability to have a pop of blue. I also would have liked if Queen actually was a more pink shade rather then the pinky bronze that it is. All these shades sorta muddy together because they are also so similar in tone. I don’t know how much use I will get out this palette. Swatched Below.

So they did end up mailing me a replacement primer for the primer that was missing in my box which is great. It came on its own before this came so I don’t why they said it would come in my next box but whatever. I don’t love it but it is so liquidy I should actually be able to use it up pretty fast. This months box was much better then last I will use most of what I got in this box which is great.

Boxycharm June 2019 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $21

I am sorry every thing has been super late on the blog this month. I’ve really just mostly been wallowing in my sadness and haven’t felt like doing anything.

So as you can maybe notice I have a missing product. The Touch in Sol Primer that was supposed to be in this box and the thing I was most excited about didn’t end up making it into my box. Which is annoying. What was more annoying was the customer service experience.

So I emailed said I had a missing product. Got am auto response saying that they had a large volume of emails and someone would respond to me in 2 to 3 days. I also had made an order with my points in the Charm Shop before my box arrived and hadn’t gotten any updates about it after more then a week.

So I waited the 3 days and at like 3 to 4 days I got different auto response email saying that there was a high volume of emails and that I would get a response in 2 to 3 days. That had me a little confused and really unhappy but what ever. The next day still having not spoken to any representatives. I got one of those surveys they send out about how they did, almost as if they had closed my claim. So I rated them a 1 and put in the comments that they had not contacted me to solve my problem and that had not updated me on the status of my other order either. Withing an hour I got a response saying that my primer would be shipped with my next box and a shipping confirmation for my Charm Shop order. So we shall see if my primer arrives next month or not.

Skin & Co Truffle Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream

Full Size: 150 ml

Full Size Cost: $35

Sample Size: 100 ml

Sample Size Value: $23.33

This is my favorite thing in the box and it isn’t even full size, which they do on occasion. This was a nice creamy cleanser but doesn’t leave that creamy heavy filmy feel that alot of cream cleansers leave on my face. I will definitely use this all up.

Dirty Little Secret Lip Liner in Rosie Posie

Full Size: ?

Full Size Cost: $15

This is very pink swatched but it is very flattering on my lips I don’t have a lip liner this color which is cool but I am not hugely into this formula. When I swatched it it broke because it is soft but not creamy it is actually quite patchy and hard to get an even layer going on it isn’t a great experience to apply I don’t love this. Swatched Below.

Dominique Cosmetics Lemonade Lip Gloss in Peach Tea

Full Size: 5.5 ml

Full Size Cost: $17

This smells like cake and frosting I want to keep it for that reason but this is a gross color and a gross feeling on the lips to me. As a gloss hater this is everything I hate about a gloss in one. It is a milky pinky peach color that makes you look kinda sick it is very very thick and very very sticky. Swatched Below.

Tarte be you. naturally. Eyeshadow Palette

Full Size: 9.6 g

Full Size Cost: $36

Typical Tarte stickers to cover up older packaging. This is boxy exclusive so you can’t buy it BUT I linked to a practically identical one that they have also sent me at some point. I think. All the round Tarte palettes expect the Make Believe in Yourself palette all look so boring and so similar. I plan to give this away. So I am not going to swatch it because there is no way in hell I would use this.

Customer service issues aside I really didn’t like this box at all this month. Two lip products that aren’t my taste a boring eyeshadow palette and then a cleanser and a primer that I didn’t receive.

Total: $91.33 ($114.33 with the primer)

Total Value to Me: $38.33 ($61.33 with the primer)
