What is it: Every season Walmart sends out a box of samples and sometimes coupons in their “free” subscription box. The box is a flat shipping rate of $5 and the box is considered free.  There are two categories of boxes “Trendsetter” which you receive if you provide a birth date that has you aged at under 35 and “Classic” if you provide a birth date that has you aged above 35.

So I was under the impression that all boxes in a category were the same I was apparently mistaken and definitely didn’t receive one of the more fun boxes. I basically got box of lotion.

For a free box from Walmart they really do a cute job with packaging.

How cute is that snowflake wrapping. I had to use it as a background for some of these pictures.

I have listed the products Shampoo, Conditioner, Pre-conditioner. And then totaled up the value I hope this makes sense.

I have used this in the past and have liked it. It leaves my hair soft and shiny and straighter then it would normally be.The only thing about this is that it smells really weird not necessarily bad but weird if you like a nice pleasant smelling shampoo this is not it but it does not linger on the hair so I can live with it.

nspa Body Butter in Exotically Creamy Coconut

This can no longer be purchased on the Walmart website. The other scents are only priced at around $5.21 but I was only able to find the coconut on Amazon.  This is a decent feeling cream but it does not smell like coconut at all it almost smells like flowers or something I do not like it. Luckily they sent me plenty of other moisturizing things so I won’t have to fear for dry skin *heavy sarcasm*

TRESemmé Volumizing Dry Shampoo

Full Size: 4.3 oz

Sample Size: 1.15 oz

Value: $1.33

This has the classic TRESemmé scent to it. It does not leave much white residue like many dry shampoos do. It is stickier then my new found live the Drybar dry shampoo but considerably cheaper.

Curél Hydratheraphy Wet Skin Moisturizer

I tried a little of this on dry skin and it felt a little greasy I imagine the water is supposed to break that down when you take a shower.

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash

This absolutely smells like nothing. I’m not a huge fan of Dove products but I’ll use it just the same.

Well Im excited about the shampoo and the dry shampoo but the rest is meh. Still this box is once again worth it. You can’t be getting samples in the mail for $5 packages are always fun.

This is my first box I have ever received from Walmart.  I signed up about a week before the box was set to ship out and received the box fairly quickly within 2 weeks of signing up. So on to the part every one cares about what I got and how much it was worth.

Pretty impressed its stuffed so lets see if any of it is any good.

I actually used this while putting this post together and I loved it cleaned out my pores and the charcoal mopped up a lot of the oil that builds up on my nose.  They did leave a bit of black residue that was a pain in the ass to get off but it worked well enough I can look past that.

Hello Naturally Friendly Extra Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste in Pure Mint

I got the Pure Mint flavor normally I would save this for travel but I am almost out of toothpaste and curious to try this so look back for a review in the near future. Walmart also included a $1 off coupon.

Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash in Sweet Cream with Peony

I actually like this scent surprisingly the cream out weighs the peony and I hate floral scents so its nice that I can tolerate this one.  This will be great for throwing into an overnight bag.  Its a nice moisturizing body wash I have a full size of the vanilla scent and its a very creamy body wash.

Unscented lotion not a fan of those and I have so much lotion. It isn’t greasy though so this may get thrown in my car to see how it handles temperature changes I’m always looking for a good lotion to live in my car if you have any ideas let me know.

I love masks and being steam activated is intriguing so I’m quite excited about this product. I also love this brand they make my holy grail acne spot treatment so I am all about this.

I don’t take baths often but this will be nice after a long day at work I’m sure and its a really good sample size. And its a brand I’ve never heard of which is also cool and kinda the whole point of these boxes.

This is like THE dry shampoo every one talks about and I had never tried so I was psyched to see it in this box. Unfortunately I do not like this I don’t love dry  shampoo in general but this left a horrible white cast in my dark hair that I had a hell of a time brushing out.  Might be really good for like a bride of Frankenstein look with out having to use that nasty spray on hair color so that could be a good use

Overall Impression

So overall the box had a total value of $6.10 so only a $1.10 more then I paid but there was a nice mix of product types and brand types so I am satisfied with the box.  I would have liked to see the box value be around $8 dollars and to have seen at least one makeup item but I am happy enough that I will be keeping the subscription it is only$20 a year and gives out some nice sample sizes for travel.  Well hope you enjoyed my rambling please comment, subscribe, follow me on Instagram the Instagram badge on the bottom (like right there hint hint) should be working but its nightmarebeforemakeup if you are interested and the badge isn’t working.
