Boxycharm May 2020 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $25

Cycle: Every Month

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

If you would like to subscribe you can use my referral link HERE. I don’t get anything other then points but would really appreciate it but do as you feel comfortable you are also welcome to use the link in the header that leads to the regular homepage.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

I’m pretty meh about this box the item I would have chosen was sold out so I had to pick something else and I mostly have gotten things that are pretty meh and not my type of products.

Tarte Micellar Magic Makeup Remover

Full Size: 190 ml

Full Size Cost: $18

I don’t love micellar waters they tend to sting my eyes and leave a film on face that I don’t like but I know I will use this even though I don’t really like them.

Elemis Dynamic Facial Resurfacing Pads

Full Size: 60 ct

Full Size Cost: $59

This was my choice but I am not super into exfoliating pad type products anymore but we’ll see how it goes they are like almost a $1 a pad o I am sure to use them.

Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer

Full Size: 10 ml

Full Size Cost: $22

I actually already owned this primer and have been using it for awhile it is a really good primer rght up there with primer potion from Urban Decay. It is a clear primer so it doesn’t blank out your lid or anything like that.

Appeal Cosmetics Ultra Creme Liquid Lipstick in Sugar N Spice

Full Size: 4.8 ml

Full Size Cost: $21

So this is a new product that doesn’t release until July so that is cool Love a new release in a subscription box. This is a liquefied lipstick it does not dry down matte which I am not a huge fan of but it is pretty.

Studio Makeup Ease to Wear Eyeshadow Palette

Full Size: 8.55 g

Full Size Cost: $35

This is really unimpressive. Some of the shades don’t show up on me some are patchy some are smooth it is just really boring and inconsistent.

Well not a great box for me at least. I really don’t even know what to say I will use these things but I don’t really want any of these things.

Ipsy May 2020 Subscription Box Review

Ipsy Bag

Cost: $12 monthly, $132 annual

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month Ipsy sends out a cute makeup bag of samples and full size items. You can review your bag for points that you can trade in for reward items. The rewards change often and the range between 300 points and 1000 points. You can get around 95 points every month.

If you want to subscribe you can subscribe HERE and skip the waitlist. That is my referral link so I do get points to spend but I’m not an affiliate I don’t make any money or anything it’s just one beauty junkie to another.

You can now customize your bag and pick out one sample per month that will get to be in your bag which is a pretty nice change even though it came with a price increase.

I wasn’t expecting my may bag so quickly but the month I wasn’t excited for and it’s the one that comes early. The bag is really pretty I like the sherberty sunrise vibes but the bag feels really cheap this month.

F.A.R.A.H. Brushes Large Blender 25EL

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $10

I always like getting brushes in Ipsy but I don’t love F.A.R.A.H. brushes they always feel and preform at a lesser quality. This one feels better then some others from them I tried and its cute. This is a pretty dense more dome brush then a large blender and isn’t really a shape I use much I can see this getting decluttered in my future.

Benefit Roller Lash

Full Size: 8.5 g

Full Size Cost: $25

Sample Size: 3 g

Value: $8.82

I remember not liking Roller Lash but I think I want to give it another shot and see how I go with it. Not that my mascara is getting that much use right now.

Pure Brazilian Daily Anti-Frizz Serum

Full Size: 13.5 oz

Full Size Cost: $30

Sample Size: 1 oz

Value: $2.22

I tried a hair mask from them that I didn’t love but I am always here to try other things from a brand just because I didn’t like one products doesn’t mean I won’t like another. I like anti-frizz treatments alot so this will be in use soon as I can go out and need to style my hair again.

Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation in Light Medium

Full Size: 30 ml

Full Size Cost: $40

Sample Size: 5 ml

Value: $6.67

Ipsy knows how much I don’t like getting foundation but they always send it anyway. Not really happy to have this but eh.

Goldfaden MD Wake Up Call Overnight Regenerative Facial Treatment

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $85

Sample Size: 12 ml

Value: $20.40

This was my choice for the month. I loved the last mask I tried for them it actually worked so I am hoping this works too because of how expensive these products are. Stoked for this it makes the whole bag for me.

Value was really low this month and there was only one product I am really excited about so not really the best month for me which is kinda annoying. With the situation I was hoping for a real like good bag so there was some excitement in my life but oh well.

Total Value: $48.11

Skincare: 1

Makeup: 2

Tools: 1

Hair Care: 1

Perfume: 0

Other: 0

Boxycharm April 2020 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. So I some how never got a selection email for April and wasn’t allowed to choose an item which was super unfortunate because I did not get what I would have wanted. Oh well. This was a super weird but also good box though since I got three tools which are great and some of my favorite things to get but also weird with the lack of variety.

Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer

Full Size: 22 ml

Full Size Cost: $32

I love this primer but I have so many I wasn’t going to buy it but then I got it here so that’s amazing. This is pore filling in the same way the original one is (well maybe a touch less pore filling) but it is thinner and much less dry so it doesn’t chunk up like the original can. I really think this one is much better than the original.

Elemis Superfood Cica Calm Hydration Juice

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $48

This was one of the choice items, not something I am into I really don’t care for stuff with a ton of aloe in it. Its not as sticky as normal aloe gels are but i already know I am going to use this up as a chest and neck moisturizer because I don’t enjoy stuff like this on my face. I don’t care how bougie it is to use a $48 serum on my chest and neck I have it and I should use it the way I want.

The Original Makeup Eraser in Sunset

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $20

How insanely pretty is this rainbowy Makeup Eraser?!?! Now I am kinda really hoping they do a pride flag one I would be so on that shit. I like Makeup Erasers alot they are really really soft. I still use makeup remover but I just love how soft these are and they feel so gentle I love them alot. This colorway is not for sale anymore so I linked to another pretty one but they are all the same price.

Hank & Henry Midori Beauty Sponge Bundle

Full Size: 1 Large Sponge 1 Small Sponge

Full Size Cost: $20

I like the shape of these sponges I find points and edges to be really useful. The smaller sponge is softer and squishier but they are both pretty soft. I love the little owl/bird face in the bigger sponge so cute and lime green is one of my favorite colors so super happy.

Lavish 5 Piece Neon Eye Brush Collection

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $29.99

I love the size of these brushes they are super tiny and I love tiny brushes they are great for detail work and smaller eyes. The colors are also super fun. But this is a brand I have never heard of and the site is a bit weird it feels very much like private labeled brushes that you could get else where for much much cheaper.

Alot of tools this month which I’m not made at just there was a distinct lack of variety. The Makeup Eraser was the definite stand out for me. Lower value than Boxycharm has been lately as well.
