Ipsy Bag

Cost: $12 monthly, $132 annual

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month Ipsy sends out a cute makeup bag of samples and full size items. You can review your bag for points that you can trade in for reward items. The rewards change often and the range between 300 points and 1000 points. You can get around 95 points every month.

If you want to subscribe you can subscribe HERE and skip the waitlist. That is my referral link so I do get points to spend but I’m not an affiliate I don’t make any money or anything it’s just one beauty junkie to another.

You can now customize your bag and pick out one sample per month that will get to be in your bag which is a pretty nice change even though it came with a price increase.

Meh this month didn’t really like this bag though I know some people will like it because it is pretty classy and simple. I also wasn’t super impressed with what I got this month either.

Glow Recipe Banana Souffle Moisture Cream

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $39

Sample Size: 10 ml

Value: $7.80

This is very light but also really dewy and a bit greasy not a huge fan at all.

Avette Coconut Mild Foam Cleanser

Full Size: 150 ml

Full Size Cost: $12

Sample Size: 15 ml

Value: $1.20

A simple face wash not complaining but also not exciting and the value is super low on this.

MOTD A Perfect 10 Brush

Full Size: Yes

Full Size Cost: $22

This was my pick for the month it is super soft and fluffy but it is really big I wish it was just a bit smaller or a bit more domed it is just a little off in shape for my personal tastes.

Context Matte Lipstick in 102 Sweet Emotion

Full Size: 3.4 g

Full Size Cost: $20

Sample Size: 2.4 g

Value: $14.12

This is a very pretty rusty color but it isn’t really matte at all. It has a really nice shape that hugs your lips as well but that will get worn down pretty fast I think. This is also supposed to be “non-toxic” which is a pretty bs claim all real makeup is non toxic. Swatched Below.

TreStique Line, Sharpen + Smudge Eye Pencil in Santorini Black Sand

Full Size: 0.3 g

Full Size Cost: $19

Sample Size: 0.3 g

Value: $19

This seems like a pretty nice black eyeliner not that they don’t send 75 million black eyeliners. I don’t care for the little smudge thing on the end that really isn’t the best or most hygienic way to smudge eyeliner but it is fine I can ignore that. This is also retractable but also has a sharpener they really shoved everything into this liner. I just really think TreStique packaging is so cute how they make it look like crayons.

Overall a pretty boring collection of products but it is what it is.

Walmart Fall 2020 (Maybe Summer?) Beauty Box Subscription Review

Walmart Beauty Box

Cost: $5

Cycle: Every Quarter/Season

What is it: Every season Walmart sends out a box of samples and sometimes coupons in their “free” subscription box. The box is a flat shipping rate of $5 and the box is considered free.  There are two categories of boxes “Trendsetter” which you receive if you provide a birth date that has you aged at under 35 and “Classic” if you provide a birth date that has you aged above 35.

I am not gonna lie i have no idea what season box we are on anymore they come so randomly that I don’t know either way I always love them.

Nyx Butter Gloss in Apple Crisp

Full Size: 8 ml

Full Size Cost: $4.99

We seem to get alot of Nyx products in this box but thye are a loved brand ad great products so it isn’t a bad thing. These glosses are super popular I find them to be sticky and I hate anything sticky but it is a very pretty pinky red color.

Gold Bond Strength & Resilience Lotion

Full Size: 368 g

Full Size Cost: $9.48

Sample Size: 21 g

Total Value: $0.54

I don’t like Gold Bond Lotions they just don’t work well for me all the ones I have tried have not worked for me for different reasons so I will pass this along to my gf.

Biore Rose Quartz + Charcoal Daily Purifying Cleanser

Full Size: 200 ml

Full Size Cost: $6.47

Sample Size: 29 ml

Total Value: $0.94

We got this last season/box and all my thoughts from then still stand.

Bausch + Lomb Lumify Eye Drops

Full Size: 2.5 ml

Full Size Cost: $11.97

Sample Size: 0.4 ml

Total Value: $1.92

One time use eye drops how interesting. These are cool because they whiten your sclera so you have that nice white bright eyed look. I have used these in the full size so its cool to have a littel one time use thing to keep around.

Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Defining Lotion Humidity Shield

Full Size: 175 ml

Full Size Cost: $6.97

Sample Size:175 ml

Total Value: $6.97

What a huge full size item to get in a “free” box. Now I love humidity shields to help keep my hair smooth because my hair gets dry and frizzy super easily but since this is for curly hair i feel like it might be to heavy and sticky for me but I will try it out and see it is a pretty cool thing to get in this kind of box.

Walmart just always really kills these boxes like it is truly awesome what they send for just $5 in shipping I am always just so happy.

Boxycharm October 2020 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $25

Cycle: Every Month

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

If you would like to subscribe you can use my referral link HERE. I don’t get anything other then points but would really appreciate it but do as you feel comfortable you are also welcome to use the link in the header that leads to the regular homepage.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

This was a a pretty heavy hitting box this month but it was sorta just every product was a small fail for me personally. So be it.

Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer Cherry Tonka Musk

Full Size: 85 g

Full Size Cost: $20

I love Spongelles so much they are so easy for travel and such great quality. They are lightly exfoliating sponges with the body wash in and depending on the size last 4 days to like 16 days. I love cherries I like tonka but I hate musk so this scent is just a bit off for me the musk is really strong but I will use it any way. Happy even if I would have preferred the scent to be different.

Symniosis London Tightening & Resplendent Eye Mask

Full Size: 15 ml

Full Size Cost: $93

I don’t know what resplendent eye mask is supposed to do but it is a bit tightening but nothing dramatic. It isn’t hydrating at all despite having Hyaluronic acid in it.

Tarte Maracuja Miracle Mist

Full Size: 85 ml

Full Size Cost: $23

I have heard good things about this setting spray and I am really excited to try it. This is probably my favorite thing in the whole box.

Real Her Ultimate Glow Getter Cheek Trio Palette

Full Size: 7.5 g, 2.5 g x 3 shades

Full Size Cost: $28

This is so meh for me I think I am going to pass it on the bronzer and blush are so light the highlighter is pretty intense but this is so what ever to me. Not impressed.

Ciate London The Editor Palette New England

Full Size: 21.6 g, 18 shades

Full Size Cost: $32

This palette just confuses me. You have all these dark jewel toned shimmers that are gorgeous but then only 3 mattes that are not dark enough to be used with any of these darker shimmers so they serve no point really in the palette and some of the shimmers are just lighter versions of themselves so this could have been condensed and it would have bee a lovely foil palette to use in conjunction with out her palettes that people have. I am gona play around with this but I can see myself decluttering this.

This did not live up to last months box at all. I really loved most of what I got last month and this month was a bit more okay cool it is fine.

Total: $196

Total Value to Me: $168
