Macy’s Beauty Box February 2021 Subscription Box Review

Cost: $15

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (sometimes $10), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it. Lately we have been getting between 6 and 8 items per month you never really know how many things you are going to get.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely seen in subscription boxes.

The cool thing about the coupon is that it is good in stores and online also Macy’s does have sales and $5 products so if you are strategic you can score a free product every month. Depending on your state you may still have to pay tax but it is still basically free.

This was super late this month, they did send an email saying that it was going to be delayed and I heard that some people got emails saying theirs had been canceled which is pretty ridiculous to be honest. This was an off bag we got to eye “cream” type products as well as a serum we have definitely received before. But on the flip side we got a unisex cologne that I haven’t ever seen in a subscription before and both of the eye products are newer and very interesting. We also got a bag this month and it has been a very long time since we have gotten a bag. it is a pretty nice cute canvasy draw strong bag that says beauty essentials on it.

This bag is cool cause I always end up with things I can share with my gf which is really fun. Alot of my other boxes it is only occasionally I get to give her things from them.

Clean Reserve Avant Garden Collection in Galbanum & Rain Perfume

Full Size: 100 ml

Full Size Cost: $125

Sample Size: 1.5 ml

Value: $1.88

This is not at all floraly for a garden scent it is very unisex. I am not into this for me to wear personally but my gf will wear this and the peppery and rainy notes will smell good on her.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

Full Size: 30 ml

Full Size Cost: $79

Sample Size: 10 ml

Value: $26.33

I never cared for this serum but it does alot to help my gf skin and give it hydration with out being greasy or heavy.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

Full Size: 6 oz

Full Size Cost: $36

Sample Size: 1 oz

Value: $6

This is another cream that I don’t care for it is much to heavy for me but another on that is great for eczema and really dry skin.

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

Full Size: 15 ml

Full Size Cost: $15

Sample Size: 15 ml

Value: $15

The idea of enzyme peels really excites me and Elemis is a great brand.

Sundari Chamomile Eye Oil

Full Size: 10 ml

Full Size Cost: $49

Sample Size: 5 ml

Value: $24.50

This says it is 5 ml but it really looks like it is more then 5 ml. I have never seen an eye oil before and I am very curious about it. It claims that it will reduce lines and wrinkles and I imagine an oil will be quite hydrating.

Perricone MD Hypoallergenic CBD Sensitive Skin Therapy Soothing & Hydrating Eye Cream

Full Size: 15 ml

Full Size Cost: $72

Sample Size: 7.5 ml

Value: $36

So this is a newer product from the Perricone CBD line. I really enjoy CBD eye creams I feel like they are very soothing on my eyes and I really enjoy that when my eyes are tired. Also this is half the full size and $36 dollars that is so much for such a tiny eye cream.

I love that I get to share this with my gf it makes the experience more fun for me. the value is also really good this month.

Ipsy February 2021 Subscription Box Review

Ipsy Bag

Cost: $12 monthly, $132 annual

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month Ipsy sends out a cute makeup bag of samples and full size items. You can review your bag for points that you can trade in for reward items. The rewards change often and the range between 300 points and 1000 points. You can get around 95 points every month.

If you want to subscribe you can subscribe HERE and skip the waitlist. That is my referral link so I do get points to spend but I’m not an affiliate I don’t make any money or anything it’s just the same link any subscriber would get.

You can now customize your bag and pick out one sample per month that will get to be in your bag which is a pretty nice change even though it came with a price increase.

I really like this month’s bag first one in a while that I have liked. Mine seems to be misprinted the gold square is up too high leaving a gap at the bottoms and the top part not visible because it is on the fold.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner

Full Size: 150 ml

Full Size Cost: $12.76

Sample Size: 13 ml

Value: $1.11

This is the first time I can remember that an item has been under the average or what I “paid” for it. On top of that it is an item I am not super excited about I don’t really care for hydrating toners I find them rather pointless.

thisworks in transit camera close-up

Full Size: 40 ml

Full Size Cost: $45

Sample Size: 10 ml

Value: $11.25

This is a really interesting product it is like a skincare mask but it is also a priming moisturizer this is alot like the Glossier priming moisturizer but feels much lighter and smoother on my skin. I think I am really going to enjoy using this. I did not expect it to be so expensive though when I looked up the price.

Codage Masque Micro-Peeling Mask

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $52

Sample Size: 15 ml

Value: $15.60

I thought at first this was one of those masks that balls up which I am not hugely into but this is actually and AHA mask and should actually do some nice chemical exfoliating.

Love You First Perfect Eyeshadow Duo

Full Size: 9g, 1g per shade

Full Size Cost: $10.99

Sample Size: 2.5g, 1.25g per shade

Value: $3.05

Look I am not going to swatch this because I wouldn’t use this. Looks nice though. Interestingly my palette seems to be mislabeled. The back says this is rose gold and ivory, when compared to the full size product this is actually the soft brown and bronze shades.

Nars High-Pigment Longwear Eyeliner in Via Veneto

Full Size: 0.04 oz

Full Size Cost: $24

Sample Size: 0.02 oz

Value: $12

So this was my choice this month, I love Nars eyeliners they are so smooth and creamy and pigmented and I am happy to have this black one.

So this bag had a really low value as did last months bag looking back. I checked and the bag is supposed to be valued at over $50 so I contacted Ipsy about that because I am a little annoyed the price has increased and it seems that despite having item choice the value is dropping. I will up date you next month on what they say about all this.

Boxycharm January 2021 Subscription Box Review

Boxycharm

Cost: $25

Cycle: Every Month

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

If you would like to subscribe you can use my referral link HERE. I don’t get anything other then points but would really appreciate it but do as you feel comfortable you are also welcome to use the link in the header that leads to the regular homepage.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

I know I know I missed last month’s review but holidays and car dying and laptop dying and just the world it got too late make it worth doing.

Ciate London The Velvet Palette

Full Size: 12 shades, 12 g

Full Size Cost: $30

I love the soft touch packaging on this but these colors do nothing for me at all. So I will pass it along unswatched.

The Lifestyle Co. Reset Mist

Full Size: 4 oz

Full Size Cost: $36

This was my pick and I had no idea what it was until it showed up and OMG it is a linen spray I am so excited it smells really nice and relaxing and I love linen sprays especially boujie ones I would never waste my real money on. There is “quartz” in this that is supposed to do, well nothing because it does nothing but also I am pretty sure its just like pretty plastic pieces they don’t look like real quartz lol.

Dr. Brandt DNA Triple Peptide Eye Cream

Full Size: 15 g

Full Size Cost: $82

So when you buy this in store it comes in a jar but for Boxycharm it comes in a tube so you can’t try to return it anywhere (also that’s why things with say exclusively for Boxycharm on them when it is a product that is in the normal line in case anyone wasn’t sure why that was) but I much prefer my eye creams in tubes so they are exposed to less air so that is a plus for me. Unfortunately I have found all Dr. Brandt products to be mediocre at best and not even close to worth the price they charge.

Farmacy Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer

Full Size: 50 ml

Full Size Cost: $38

This feels so nice and light and hydrating my favorite type of moisturizer.

Qveen Studio Dragon Duo

Full Size: Liquid 1.5 ml, Pencil 0.89 ml (that makes no sense)

Full Size Cost: $28.00

I really love the look of this box it reminds me of Nars. I really love all the little dragons on the packaging because DRAGONS! But uh I don’t think these eyeliners are very good. They are not very black a bit patchy a bit meh all around.

This was a pricey box this month around and we sorta got a bonus item with the eyeliner duo.

Total: $214

Total Value to Me: $184
