Macy’s Beauty Box May 2021 Subscription Box Review

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (sometimes $10), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it. Lately we have been getting between 6 and 8 items per month you never really know how many things you are going to get.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely seen in subscription boxes.

The cool thing about the coupon is that it is good in stores and online also Macy’s does have sales and $5 products so if you are strategic you can score a free product every month. Depending on your state you may still have to pay tax but it is still basically free.

I know I missed posting in April but it just came so late and it just was too much to get it done and it was a really meh box anyway.

The coupon has changed again and now it is $5 off of $20 which still no. Bring back the $5 and $10 off coupons that ridiculous I don’t want to have to spend money to use the coupon especially since I have noticed the boxes getting worse in type and size of items being sent. I may cancel if this trend continues on thru the year.

This has cannabis seed oil in it which is really soothing on the skin and that could pair really well with an exfoliant. Cool to get a very on trend new brand I do really like that.

Bare Minerals Ageless 10% Phyto-Retinol Night Concentrate

I have always been really curious about this line from Bare Minerals but it is so expensive that I would never try it. I am really excited for this.

I love the Vitamin C line from Sunday Riley it works so well for my skin and I really see results from it. I really hoard their products.

Oohh very excited for this I love All-nighter setting spray. This has a very interesting texture really thin and light and cooling but also really sticky at the same time.

The value is still here with this bag it just feels like less value then usual just a perception thing really.

Ipsy May 2021 Subscription Box Review

What is it: Every month Ipsy sends out a cute makeup bag of samples and full size items. You can review your bag for points that you can trade in for reward items. The rewards change often and the range between 300 points and 1000 points. You can get around 95 points every month.

You can now customize your bag and pick out one sample per month that will get to be in your bag which is a pretty nice change even though it came with a price increase.

This bag reminds me of Fantasia and I don’t really know why.

This was my choice for the month I already own this brush I got it in an Ipsy bag in the past but I love it. It is such a good brush blends so well and is so soft. I love this brush it is really good quality and it feels so nice in my hand.

I love a good lip balm and strawberry creme is a flavor I can really get behind. I find it weird that you can only buy these lip balms in 4 packs but what ever.

Goldfaden MD Pure Start Gentle Detoxifying Facial Cleanser

I love this brand but it is so expensive. I don’t believe you need an expensive cleanser since it is on your skin for so short of a time. It is nice to have one to use occasionally though.

Boxycharm April 2021 Subscription Box Review

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

This felt really nice on my face but it is very greasy so this is definitely a night time face oil. This was my choice for the month and I picked it in sorta a eh there’s nothing I really like type of way but I am satisfied with it.

I hate lip glosses. I extra hate really colored lip glosses because they are so messy. I will pass this along so I am not unwrapping it and swatching it.

I have had good luck with Tarte Mascaras I love Big Ego and I know this is a favorite of many so when ever I get through my mascara collection I will be excited to try this.

Natasha Denonna Jubilee Palette

I know alot of people were really upset with this palette because of the color scheme, but I really don’t mind it. It is unique it plays well with the other Natasha Denonna palettes I have. I know this is not super cohesive there isn’t an endless array of looks you can make with this but that is ok with me.

The Creme Shop 123 Smile Shading Cream Trio Palette in Light

Full Size: 3 shades, 12 g

I think medium would have been better but the tones of this palette are really good they are all grey leaning which is exactly what you want for a contouring shade. How cute are the little smiley faces though? They just make me smile lol. I am also really happy to have some more cream contours to play with.

So for each swatch I did a heavy line and then a blended out line for a better effect of what it would really look like in use. You can see that the lightest shade doesn’t really show up on me.

Wow a mostly makeup box it has been probably close to a year or more since that has happened. I am really happy with this box this was the most fun I’ve had opening a Boxycharm in a while.
