Macy’s Beauty Box October 2021 Subscription Box Review

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (that used to it) with a purchase amount which I hate (SUCH A DOWNGRADE), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it. Lately we have been getting between 6 and 8 items per month you never really know how many things you are going to get.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely seen in subscription boxes.

Chock full of stuff this month.

3ina Cosmetics The 24H Pen Eyeliner

I am sorta excited for this one. It is super black and smooth it feathers a little but Hands are a good feather test because everything feathers on them so you can judge how much and this is minimal.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

For real you couldn’t at least send a full mini size like really? I don’t like this mascara so I am leaving it sealed in the bag. I find this mascara to be dry and unimpressive on my lashes and I have so many mascaras I like and so many I want to try I am not going to waste my time on mascaras I know I don’t like.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe

Well this color is way to light for me but also I don’t like micro pencils so I wouldn’t use this anyway. Two strike outs for me. The mini is cute for travel or a purse makeup bag though.

Gua Sha Tool

So this is plastic and I have never seen a plastic one before. I have been super curious to try Gua Sha out but haven’t wanted to buy one so this will be a good beginner one so see if I like it and want to invest in a more expensive stone or metal Gua Sha tool. Very cool to get something like this even if it is super low quality.

I love a pimple patch and these are raved about I know. I always have a few brands on the go and try to mix and match and test what are going to be the best for what type of pimples. I enjoy it and I do find most help alot.

As per usual I have given these away to my mom and gf respectively. I like that that is an option it doesn’t bother me that I don’t care for the perfumes usually I have so many. I love that they include a cologne I say this every month.

I am keeping half the things in this months bag that isn’t so bad.

What is it: Every season Walmart sends a little sample products of all sorts of health and beauty type items. It used to be a free sample box with $5 shipping. But they have now changed it to a $6.98 box with free shipping with the promise of better and more full size items.

Always super excited when this box shows up I really really love the Walmart Beauty Boxes.

C’est Moi Gentle Makeup Removing Wipes

Who doesn’t need a pack of wipes. I never really buy them but it is nice to have a pack on hand for if I need them or want them for something. These are already more expensive then the whole box.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

This is a super popular sponge. I don’t love the Orange Real Techniques sponge I think it is too hard. but it is cool to get it and it is in the new better packaging so it isn’t like they were trying to unload leftovers of their older packaging.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser

I had a really bad experience with a Burt’s Bees face cleanser and it has soured me on the whole skincare line. I won’t be trying this, but passing it along. I think their products are kinda harsh and they tout them as being gentle and for sensitive skin but I don’t think they really are.

Dove Exfoliating Body Polish in Pomegranate Seeds & Shea Butter

I don’t love the Dove scrubs they are not super scrubby and they are too creamy and kinda clump up. This smells so so good though I love pomegranate and this smells really nice so I will enjoy using it for the scent.

I don’t know why I got two of these instead of the other sample options but ok. I have been super curious about this line I am always looking for something that is going to be effective against my breakout flare ups. I will be starting to use these straight away.

Walmart always wins in my eyes it is so cheap and they send such great usable things that I always end up using up quickly which is like the whole point right.

Boxycharm September 2021 Subscription Box Review

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to. It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for $25 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box. Boxycharm also joined the customization train and you can choose between a few items to have one in your box for the month. I really like that because Boxycharm was getting to the point where I was only liking one thing in my box and even though the value was there the fun wasn’t anymore.

Georgette Klinger Marula Primer

Look if you have dryer skin this is probably wonderful. I would never out an oil on my face before makeup and expect anything positive to happen. Also this brand has been around since 1941 and I have never heard of it so now I’m super curious to see if they have a really cool vintage makeup history. Anyway this is probably beautiful for dry skin it is very smooth and luxe feeling but this is not for me so I will also pass this on.

Pinky Rose Cosmetics Pump Your Bass Multi-Use Makeup Stick in Hip Hop + Jazz

Well now I wish they had sent the other colors because the other colors look super pretty and fun and these are kinda boring.

The matte cream colored one in Hip Hop is a bit skippy and hard to blend but it might make a good eye base. I have a strong suspicion I will declutter it in the future but I will give it an honest go it could be magical and a stick eye base would be useful for me.

The bronze one in jazz is very smooth and very metallic and pretty but bronze is so boring to me so we shall see how I get on with it. There is a super pretty red and lime green ones though and I really wish I had gotten one of those.

m2u nyc Makeup Blending Sponge Set

These are super cute but they do feel low quality. I love having different shaped sponges and I will use these eventually but they are not a high quality item. I also swear I saw these like 2 years ago in a Walgreens with the Easter basket stuff.

Half Caked Best Friends Forever In Bloom + Duo Fiber Brush Set

This packaging has my heart I love it so freaking cute. I love the concept of packaging a blush and brush together. I love this shade of blush. The blush is easily my favorite thing in the box. The brush is super soft but I don’t love the shape of it I don’t like really long wispy duo fiber brushes but I might try shaping this and trimming it to get a bristle length I prefer more. And by I might I mean I’m gona ask my dad to do it because he is an artist and actually knows how to do that with out ruining the brush.

I love a bruisey colored blush like they have my heart I love how they look.

What a odd combination of items but I do like that I got essential way more items then usual and that they are useful even if they are odd and kinda low value / low quality feeling. I am not getting a ton of value out of this month money wise but I do really really like the blush set and that is almost what I paid for the box so that plus the use I’ll get out of the sponges and sticks it has some value to me.
