Hey so something a little different I decided to to a year end review. Mostly to see what kind of value I am really getting out of my subscription. I have been feeling a bit over Ipsy. I am excited to get it every month but that is more the excitement of getting a package.

Let’s start with the hard facts and then some more subjective evaluations. Always have to nerd out first.

Here is the total value of each month and the amount of products.

Month Value Product
January $30.26 5
February $59.22 6
March $43.65 5
April $38.07 5
May $66.79 5
June $43.18 6
July $40.26 6
August $52.71 6
September $39.20 6
October $57.12 5
November $43.83 5
December $53.43 6

Total: $567.72

Products: 66

As you can see I got 6 items half the time and 5 half the time.

So I paid $1.67 per item I received from Ipsy not so so bad there were definitely plenty I would not have paid that much for and some I would have been thrilled to pay that little.

The average value works out to be $47.31. Not to shabby for a ten dollar bag.

Top 5 Favorite Items:

  1. November – Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix – $5.83
  2. September – Luxie 207 Brush – $12
  3. March – Beau Gauche Tapered Blending Brush – $12
  4. May – Luxie 660 Brush – $23
  5. October – Blacq Mask – $7.25

So that is Top 5, $60.08. My top five definitely make me feel like I got actual value out of the bag.

So that about sums it up. Really short post for a change.

So we got a really 90s sporty neon mesh bag this month its ok and I got a load of interesting stuff this month so lets get to it.  Because I am a disaster all of my post are super late this month I just can’t my life together this month but I have been using up products like crazy so stay tuned for that post in a week or two or three well see how that’s going lol.

Nyx Lingerie in Satin Ribbon

Full Size: 4 ml

Full Size Cost: $6.99

Sample Size: 4 ml

Value: $6.99

I hate this this is really dry looks like crap on my lips not to mention it is the exact color of my skin so I look like some horror movie demon with no mouth. Though I mean that could be a good Halloween look, but not I am not keeping this just to maybe use it on Halloween. If you really love opaque concealer lip look circa 2000 this is for you.

Global Beauty Care Charcoal Wash Off Mask

Full Size: 150 ml

Full Size Cost: $4.99

Sample Size: 30 ml

Value: $1

This was an ok charcoal mask it washed off easier then most charcoal masks do but didn’t wow me in terms of clearing my skin or anything there is about 3 uses in this packet. I really appreciate the resealable cap on the package.

Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner

Full Size: 1.7 ml

Full Size Cost: $19

Sample Size: 1.7 ml

Value: $19

I still have yet to try this. I just can’t open another black liquid liner right now. I may have to declutter some of these just because it isn’t right to hold on to so many of the same unopened liquid liners.

Organic Feelings The Coffee Scrub in Coconut

Full Size: 200 g

Full Size Cost: $18.99

Sample Size: 50 g

Value: $4.75

I have seen this all over the place so this is a really cool thing to get. I love the smell of coffee, the taste of coffee, I would marry coffee.  So I love this. It is on sale right now so that is the price I am going with.

City Color Contour Palette

Full Size: 3 x 4.5 g

Full Size Cost: $6.99

Sample Size: 3 x 2.35 g

Value: $3.67

I was shocked that this wasn’t full sized I mean it feels like a full sized drugstore contour palette but it is just over half the size of that is sold on the website and honestly nicer packaging but go figure. The highlight is super chunky but not glittery so you can make it work and the bronzer is way to orangey warm for me but the contour shade is definitely worth a go it is a nice ashy cool shade and pretty smooth.

I was actually surprise (though I shouldn’t have been) with the low value this month. Half the value came just from the the eyeliner. I am weirdly happy with this bag even though it is a really low value. Like the palette is perfect for me to grab and take on vacation next month. The mask and the scrub are things that will get used up and Ipsy knows I love a black eyeliner.

I’m a bit meh about this month’s bag nothing really stands out as that special to me. It doesn’t really scream holiday to me.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary

Full Size: 0.1 oz

Full Size Cost: $21

Sample Size: 0.08 oz

Value: $16.80

This is a great little mini lipstick. I just really don’t like the be legendary formula they are just way to creamy for my tastes and just not my thing. I find them really hard to apply and wear because of how creamy they are I feel like I really have fuss with them too much.  Swatched Below.

Trèstique Mini Brow Pencil in Espresso

Full Size: 0.13 g

Full Size Cost: $10

Sample Size: 0.13 g

Value: $10

This is the full mini size that they make the full size comes with a spoolie so it doesn’t seem fair to compare those when this does exist for sale. I wanted to like this it was the right color and size but its a now go. Just swatching it was impossible it was so hard and sharp it left a welt on my skin just from how hard I had to press to swatch it. Swatched (Painfully) Below.

Son & Park Beauty Water

Full Size: 11.49 oz

Full Size Cost: $30

Sample Size: 1.01 oz

Value: $2.64

This is like a micellar water that  can be used for prep or makeup removal which sounds like exact opposite uses to me but it is little enough that I can use it up quickly.

Nyx Faux Blacks Eyeliner in Blackberry

Full Size: 1.3 g

Full Size Cost: $7.99

Sample Size: 1.3 g

Value: $7.99

This is my favorite thing in the bag I love these gel like pencil eyeliners and I always love a fun color and this blackened purple is very me. I love Nyx eyeliners. Swatched Below.

Lipstick, Eyebrow Pencil, Eyeliner.

Pūrlisse Green Tea + Ginger Sheet Mask

Full Size: 1 mask

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 1 mask

Value: $8

Pūrlisse Coconut + Rice Sheet Mask

Full Size: 1 mask

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 1 mask

Value: $8

The pictures of these got corrupted so I am sorry but they are sheet masks they aren’t that special to look at. I have tried Pūrlisse sheet masks before but they are ok they have tons of essence and are soothing but I find them very cold they feel extra cold on my skin and I don’t like that. I would never spend $8 on one sheet mask but people must be.

Well my favorite thing in the box was the drugstore eyeliner. Idk this box was a little bit of a mishmash of things that almost were right but just didn’t quite work for me.
