What is it: Every month our favorite money sucking store Sephora sends out a curated box of higher end samples to try out. Every month you receive 5 samples and a perfume sample.  The boxes are customized with a few different variations being sent out each month.

There is a small survey that Sephora has you take that helps Sephora curate a box to your needs. There is also a card included in the box for a complimentary mini makeover and 50 extra points if you purchase something in store and now online too.

This was a really uninspired month from Sephora Play! as you will see I am unimpressed and not at all excited. How many times are you going to send Bite lipsticks in the same fucking shade. It is so boring and Bite has so many interesting shades not the same brown or pink nudes over and over again.

This is a floral perfume not my taste. I don’t mind the perfume samples though I like them for travel so when they are scents I like I actually appreciate them.

Coola Mineral Sun Silk Creme Sunscreen

Always like a sunscreen sample in my quest to find some that I am not allergic to and don’t cost an arm and a leg (this does). I got at least one but I think two sunscreens last month though so that is kinda like wow Sephora did you put any thought into these boxes?

Lancome Cils Booster XL Mascara Base

Full Size: 4 ml

Full Size Cost: $13.00

Sample Size: 2.07 ml

Value: $6.73

I linked to the mini size because it is a far better value then the full size the mini is 4 ml for $13 and the full size is 5.6 ml for $26 so you could but to minis for the same price as the full size and end up with more product so always check the prices and sizes of the minis sometimes they really are the better deal. I think I already have 2 of these in my stash either from here or Macy’s and I just never use lash primer so this is not joining my horde. I don’t always love Lancome mascaras either.

Sol de Janieiro Coco Cabana Cream

Full Size: 240 ml

Sample Size: 25 ml

Value: $4.69

I love this lotion so much I got the travel size one in a Boxycharm and so good. This has a delicious coconut cream scent that smells so yummy and good. The lotion itself is moisturizing but a bit sticky I like it so so much but it is just too expensive to ever buy.

dp Hue ACV Hair Rinse

I wish this came a day sooner because this was exactly what my hair needed after getting back from vacation. Alas it will have to wait now. this is like a shampoo alternative for when your hair feels really dirty and laden with product.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai

I have Chai in a matte formula and now I have it in their cream formula too. Joy. I don’t love Bite beauty lipsticks they have a weird very raw ingredient scent and they really drag across my lips not my favorite. The bullets also wiggle in the tube and are not stable and break off pretty easy this arrived broken but I was able to fit it back into the tube.

I wasn’t really happy with this box there is no excitement with this box anymore its like Sephora just doesn’t care and is chucking what ever random shit in these boxes. The same tired products over and over.

What is it:

Boxycharm sends out 4 to 5 full size  items every month which makes it really unique among the  boxes I subscribe to.  It is a nice change to get all full size products especially for the reasonable price of $21 which is usually less then the cost of one item in the box.

You can also review your products and get “charms” which are their versions of points that you can use as money off in their shop.

Not a bad month mostly because I love the packaging on everything this month which is a really shallow dumb reason to like these items but what ever the pretty packaging makes me happy.

GlamGlow Gentle Bubble Daily Cleanser

I love the oil slick packaging it is so pretty I love like the look of oil slicks. I’m excited to try this out but I tend to find GlamGlow products to not really be as special as they make themselves out to be. They tend to be very basic or downright dumb (looking at you glitter masks) I rarely get to use a full size cleanser I just use the constant supply of samples I have because I feel like while a nice cleanser is super enjoyable it is on you’re skin for so short a time that as long as it doesn’t irritate me and it cleans my face I’m good.

Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio in Medium Tan

Full Size: 8 g

Full Size Cost: $22

I don’t use blush so I will gift this off to some one but this is a really good range of blush shades you kinda got everything you need in a small easy to travel with palette. I also love the packaging the pretty watery/galaxy blue with some foil accents.

Mellow Cosmetics Brow Definer in Chocolate

I really really like this. It is a surprisingly really good color for me which is hard to find it is sorta a neutral dark brown. This is one of those thicker triangle style brow definers with an ok spoolie on the end. I am a pretty big fan of this. Swatched Below.

Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Talk is Chic

I have wanted to try this formula for so long because it is supposed to be super comfortable and long wearing that I legit just bought one like 2 days before this box got to my house lol. This isn’t my first choice of colors it is a very magenta leaning berry shade but I think I can find a way to make it work. Swatched Below.

Ciate London Eye Lustre Cream Shadow in Cupid

I don’t see this sticking around long in my collection. It doesn’t really set but also flakes off at the same time it is really weird. It is sorta a pink champagne to purple silver shift it is really pretty but it doesn’t really wear very well at all. Swatched Below.

Well everything in this bow was super pretty and I am really happy about the brow pencil so this is actually a decent box for a change.

Macy’s Beauty Box May 2019 Subscription Box Review

What is it: Every month you will get a bag, a $5 off coupon (sometimes $10), 5 deluxe samples and 1 bonus sample. Why not just say 6? I don’t get it.

All the brands will be brands you can find in Macy’s which is cool since they sell Mac and a lot of other brands that are never to rarely in subscription boxes.

The cool thing about the coupon is that it is good in stores and online (beauty ships free at Macy’s) also Macy’s does have sales and $5 products so if you are strategic you can score a free product every month. Depending on your state you may still have to pay tax but it is still basically free.

This month just was not as exciting as the previous months have been but oh well let’s get into it.

Girlactik Smudge Eraser Stick

So full price this is $17 but I found it for sale so we are going to go with that price. This is a super interesting product but I am just not sure how much use it really has. It is super soft and you are meant to sorta rub it on any makeup mistakes and then wipe it away with a q-tip but I feel like I ted to get a cleaner effect using a bit of makeup remover on a q-tip. I see potential for cleaning up lipstick but have only tried it with eyeliner so far. I like the concept don’t know about the actual function yet though.

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in 01 Black

This ain’t great. It isn’t super dark, it isn’t super smooth. It is matte which is good but it isn’t easy to draw with I can see myself decluttering this really soon but I want to give it at least a few uses. I just am ever really that impressed with Clinique makeup in general.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum

I don’t really like Caudalie products they really do nothing for my skin this included. It is basically a nothing serum for me personally. It doesn’t feel moisturizing it feels sticky. Me and Caudalie especially the Vinosource line just do not get along.

Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser

This is a cleanser I do like alot. I like a nice cream cleanser, this feels super creamy and nice on the skin and you feel nice and clean after you use this. It has no scent it works well it is just a very nice cleanser.

Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser

I don’t love the black mask from Boscia so this cleanser really worries me. I have not tried it yet because of that.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet

This is very sweet and light totally up my alley I like it. Happy to use it up.
