What’s In My Trash (A.K.A. An Empties Post) June 2017

Once again super late sorry shit is just really busy and chaotic and falling apart and I barely have time to sleep let alone do things I enjoy. Not that I don’t love sleeping lol You can pry my bed out of my cold dead hands.  So lets get into it.

Here is everything for the month.

Makeup

Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara this has the largest brush which is not something I like. This alos made my eyes kind of itchy and did not make my eyelashes look nice at all I might as well have put on nothing.

Repurchase: No

Farmacy Skin Dew this claims it is a setting spray but it did not function as one it did not make my makeup last longer and it sprays out very messy. I did like it as just a regular facial mist if I was hot or just needed a touch of moisture and I really enjoyed the herbally scent.

Repurchase: Maybe

Ulta Makeup Setting Spray this was a really good setting spray I think this may have been discontinued though.

Repurchase: Yes, if it isn’t discontinued.

Sephora Lip Balm this is $4 and the best Lip Balm every it is super luxe feeling and smells sweet and it is just great you do go through it fast though. I highly recommend this one.

Lotions

Fortune Cookie Soap Company Halloween Town Whipped Cream the scent on this was so yummy it was like a vanilla orange candy corn scent. I wish this was a permanent scent.

Repurchase: Yes

Palmer’s Coconut Facial Oil this was way to thick as a facial oil I would never put this o my oily skin. I tried using this on the dry skin on my hands and elbows but it did not absorb well. I ended up using it in my hair and it worked great as a hair oil but it is very thick.

Repurchase: No

Face Wipes

Studio 35 Makeup Remover Wipes picked these up on clearance they are the Walgreens house brand these really sucked they were too dry and did not remove makeup or dirt or anything.

Repurchase: No

Primark Makeup Removing Wipes we have discussed before these are pointless they do nothing buy the men’s wipes they are cheaper and work.

Repurchase: No

Ulta Cup Cake Scented Face Wipes these are not great for your skin but they smell nice are nice for just cleaning up sweat and stuff and they are just a cheap cute thing they come out with every Holiday season.

Repurchase: Yes

Skin Stuff

Primark Nose Pore Strips these legit did nothing they did not pull anything out of my skin.

Repurchase: No

Scinic Pore Refining Toner this was an ok toner I am really not picky about toner. It did last 6 months so that is a good long time for a bottle.

Repurchase: No

Perfume

Juicy Couture Travel Perfume I used up a little travel atomizer of from my favorite perfume line.

Repurchase: Yes

Burberry perfume this was eh got this sample in some Sephora order at some point.

Repurchase: No

Shaving

Crown Brow Blade this was my first experience with face/brow blades and I am in love they are great for cleaning up peach fuzz and quickly cleaning up around eye brows. This one is great and lasted a long time but it is expensive so I am exploring some inexpensive options.

Repurchase: No

Whish Pomegranate Shaving Cream I hated this it gave me the worst driest shave ever and I do not have sensitive or dry skin I can shave with just water and this was uncomfortable.

Repurchase: Not even if it was free.

Makeup Removing Stuff

Ulta Round Cotton Pads these were terrible they left fuzz every where and broke apart.

Repurchase: No

Ulta Eye Makeup Remover Pads  these I like a lot for cleaning up my eyes and under eyes when I’m doing my makeup they are not that great for actually taking off my makeup but perfect for cleaning up mistakes and fall out.

Repurchase: Yes

Another shitty month for accumulating empties things are really going down hill on the using up products front.

Glamour Ghoul Box Batty Box

Glamour Ghoul

And now for something completely different.

This is an awesome company the owner creates these boxes from indie products based all around a theme that isn’t as main stream. And thank god for that us weird girls need fun boxes too. This was my first box from Glamour Ghouls and I loved it.

I do believe they are starting a subscription box service they are transition from the boxes being a onetime purchase every month. Or at least that is what I understood from their Instagram account.

So this is my review of the Batty Box.

I saw  this one on Instagram and knew I had to have it I love bats I have a bat tattoo this was so something I needed in my life.

The cost was $30 and you order about 2 months in advance.

Since these are handmade and from Etsy pages mostly I will be liking to the homepage rather then the actual item as some will be sold out or limited runs and will change over time.

Crazy Bat Lady Bag from Glam Nerd Customs

$14

This bag was actually smaller in person then I imagined it being but that aside I love it. I think I am going to take it as an extra tote bag for souvenirs on my next vacation the bat on it is so cute. this is a standard tote bag material that you’d see in most printed tote bags.

For the price I think it is a little small but I understand prices at more indie companies are more expensive as they are it using giant factories to produce their goods so it has to be taken into account.

Batty Bookmark from Gorejess Laboratory

$10

The bat bookmark is not for sale in the shop there is an adorable erlenmyer flask book mark that may find its way into my collection.

At $10 this is a perfect price and for handmade it is an even better value.

These is a little bat charm and a little garnet like stone super cute.

Batty Necklace from Murderous Jewels

$15

The card listed this necklace as $20 but the Murderous Jewels Etsy page has the necklace listed at $15. The chain on this is is great and the style can make it be adjustable from a choker to a regular dangling necklace. The scrollwork design is both delicate and cool at the same time. I am very sensitive to metals so I am hoping the coating on this necklace will keep it from giving me an allergic reaction.

Quija Batty Sticker from Bright Bat Design

$1.50

This was the teaser item that made me have to buy this box. I am in love with this adorable sticker like I just want to hug it.

Bright Bat Design makes tons of adorable stickers and stationary items.

They even have a subscription box of their own that I see myself subscribing to in the future. They have a $10 and $20 option.

Liquid Lipstick in Smoked Out from Spoiled Lips

$11

Swatched Below. This is a really cool light grey color the formula reminds me alot of the Limecrime formula. Unfortunately this is a little patchy on application that could be just the color this layers perfectly so that is not an issue I just give it a few seconds to mostly dry and then add another layer. It is not overly drying or overly messy so this is great. The packaging is cute as well.

Eyeshadow in Contagion from My Pretty Zombie

$5.00

Swatched Below. This is a cool purple glittery loose pigment eyeshadow. My pretty zombie’s products are all reasonably priced. I am not a huge loose pigment lover but this is a nice one it is definitely comparable to the pigments from Medusa’s Makeup.

Contagion, Smoked Out.

Value: $56.50

This is almost double what I spent on the box so I am happy. Even if the value was not so high I would be happy because this is my favorite way to get exposed to indie brands. I am especially excited to look into buying items from Bright Bat I love stickers. I will definitely buy another box from Glamour Ghoul in the future the boxes are so much fun! I really recommend that you try them out.

Medusa’s Makeup June 2017 Subscription Box Review

Medusa’s Makeup

Cost: $15.95 monthly

Cycle: Every Month

What is it: Every month Medusa’s Makeup sends 3-5 full size products, with a value of $40 from their line.  I have been subscribing since their inaugural bag. They have changed things up a bit from 3-5 products to 3-4 products each month.

Medusa’s Make up is a vegan and cruelty free company and made in the USA.

They usually send out their newest products and always full size.

Overall all the value and the excitement of these boxes has really declined. I will canceling. But at least we can go out on some what high note.

Eyedust in Jail Bail

Full Size: 1.5 g

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 1.5 g

Value: $8

This is a really pretty shimmery pink pigment. I own nothing like this and while it is not my normal makeup style it is a great addition to my collection and I’m sure I can find some use for it. It is a truly pretty pigment it is almost creamy in application it is really great. Swatched Below.

Totally Baked Eyeshadow in Tubular

Full Size: 2 g

Full Size Cost: $9

Sample Size: 2 g

Value: $9

I absolutely love the color of this eyeshadow it is a perfect mermaid shimmery green. This is also much smoother and softer then the shade I received in last months bag. Swatched Below.

Lipstick in YOLO

Full Size: 3.5 g

Full Size Cost: $12

Sample Size: 3.5

g

Value: $12

More hot pink lipstick they sure send alot of hot pink lipstick my least favorite color. I never wear pink lipstick and never will. The formula on these is nice not to matte not to creamy but definitely not long wearing. Swatched Below.

A very summery selection of colors this month I am loving the pink and green eyeshadow together. But that lipstick just no.

Lip and Cheek Stain in Raven

Full Size: 3.5 g

Full Size Cost: $8

Sample Size: 3.5 g

Value: $8

These really suck they have very little pigment and are super greasy I don’t get why they even make these. Total Fail.

Total Value: $37

I loved the eyeshadows this month but the lip products really fucking sucked this month. I have been with this subscription since it started but it is time to cancel it just has not been up to par these last couple of months.
